Is a Premium Economy seat worth it? 💺🤔 We recently upgraded our seats on our flight from Paris to Raleigh with @airfrance at the airport on a whim. We got a good deal considering what these seats cost normally, so we figured we would try it out! Of course every airline is different, but usually Premium Economy seats have more room, extra amenities, and comfier seats. Usually the dining experience is slightly elevated, and the service is more attentive, too. The verdict: I think premium economy would be a perfect upgrade for a long flight, as long as the cost of the seat isn’t more than double the economy ticket. However, at the end of the day, there are just some flights where the extra comfort would be worth any amount of money. 💵 **Something to keep in mind: there is a better chance of upgrading your seat at a better price at the airport. However, this also means sometimes upgrades won’t be available day-of. If your child experiences ear pain during flights, this is what has worked for us over the years ✈️ Ear pain during take-off and landing is common in kids because their ears don’t equalise pressure as easily as adults. After multiple trips, these are the things that have consistently helped us travel more comfortably. 🟡 Saline drops before take-off We use saline nasal drops just before boarding, as advised by our pediatrician. Keeping the nasal passages moist has always helped ease pressure, especially if there’s even mild congestion. 🟡 Swallowing during take-off and landing When he was younger, I’d bottle-feed during take-off and landing. Breastfeeding works beautifully too. A pacifier is another great option for babies. As kids grow older, lollipops, chewing gum or sipping water work well — the swallowing action helps ears pop naturally. 🟡 Yawning & gentle breathing We keep it gentle and relaxed. In this clip, he instinctively slowed his breathing and sat quietly until the discomfort eased. Giving him time and staying calm made a big difference. 🟡 Hydration throughout the flight Small, frequent sips of water help keep everything comfortable. 🟡 Prep your child before the flight Once he was old enough to understand, we started explaining that there may be some ear discomfort during the flight and that swallowing or yawning helps. Knowing what to expect really helps kids cope better. 🟡 Pressure-regulating earplugs (for older kids) These can help during descent by slowing pressure changes and giving ears time to adjust. Every child is different, but these simple steps have made flying much easier for us. 📌 Save this for your next trip ✈️ Share with a parent who travels with kids [Travel With Kids, Family Travel, Flight Tips for Kids, Kids Ear Pain in Flights, Parenting Tips, Experience Based Parenting, Real Mom Life, Gentle Parenting, Calm Parenting, Boy Mom Life, Toddler Parenting, Child Comfort, Travel With Toddlers, Parenting Reels, Toddler Ed]

Is it worth flying with a carseat? Let’s talk about it ⬇️ We recently used a carseat on the flight for the first time and we loved it!! Cons & situations we wouldn’t use it ❌ Carrying the carseat through the airport can be a lot - even if it is attached to a suitcase or you have a rolling carrier. We would NOT recommend this option when traveling solo. Additionally, I found that my son had very little leg room and his feet were all the way up against the seat in front of him (he is 2.5 years old). I personally think it’s a great option for a shorter flight, but probably wouldn’t want it for a really long flight because it is very restrictive for the child. Pros & when we would recommend it ✅ We loved having it for our recent flight because our son was used to it and fell asleep quickly. Overall, he was much more chill on this flight compared to others. Installation was super easy. If I was traveling with a lap infant, I would bring it to see if there are any available seats on the plane for the carseat (if not, then you would gate check it). Overall, great reviews! What questions do you want to know? Bold take 👇🏼 There’s lots of love being spread around social media for Mobile Passport Control & and I’m genuinely happy for everyone who is successful in using it. But I still ❤️ Global Entry, even if there’s a five minute wait. Global entry includes TSA pre-check which means, for $100, you get BOTH: 1) expedited security at your departure airport, and 2) an expedited passport control when you return. 🚫 Mobile Passport Control does not help you get through security at your departure airport. ✅ Here’s when MPC might make sense: You’re a larger family, so you’re not shelling out $100 per person for Global Entry You already paid for TSA pre-check and didn’t think to get Global Entry, but next time you will! You don’t mind waiting in long security lines at your departing airport You rarely travel internationally Your travel partner has Global Entry and will leave you in their dust so you use the mobile passport feature to keep up 🤐 Now don’t even get me started on CLEAR, which I also recommend 🤣. Whyyyyy are there so many programs and options?!!! ❓What’s your take?? 🔗 Click on the link in my bio to get started traveling with kids or to plan your first international trip! >>> F•O•L•L•O•W @travel_familystyle for 🌎 worldwide family travel inspiration near & far Family Travel | Flying Tips | International Travel | Flight Tips | Passport Control | Global Exploration | Travel Obsessed | Window to The World | Fly Smart| Travel Wisdom | Useful Travel Tips | Travel With Kids | Experienced Travelers | Travel Teacher

Flight tips to save you time and money👇 -Want to avoid the risk of a cancelled flight? Always book the early flight. -Set flight alerts! I’ve used Skyscanner and Google Flights but have found that Google Flights works best for me. You can track the price of the flight and easily book when it is low. -To save money on business class tickets, purchase economy tickets and then upgrade to business 2-5 days before your flight departs. Sometimes it’s even better to do this at the check-in counter as it is cheaper. -If your city only has small airports, find the closest international airport and fly out of there. We have an airport in Milwaukee but my husband and I almost always choose Chicago because it is cheaper and has more direct flights. -Get more bang for your credit card points by transferring them to a different platform as opposed to using them in the credit card portal. -Utilize partner airlines. Many times partner airlines will be cheaper but fly the exact same routes. EX - a direct flight from Chicago to Austria might be cheaper on Austrian Airlines than through United Airlines. -Location and currency matters when booking flights! Most times I use a VPN when I’m searching for flights and this can lower the cost to some places. 👉Have you tried any of these tips? Share what has or has not worked for you in the comments: . . .
