• It’s a transport card which allows you to use all public transport in Istanbul.
• Works on metro, tram, buses, ferries and even funiculars.
• One card can be used for several people.
❓ Why you need it?
Istanbul has a very good public transportation system and using taxi is often not even an option because the traffic here is crazy! 🤯
So with Istanbulkart you’ll pay 50% less for public transport than paying with your bank card or Apple Pay.
💳 Where to buy it
• At the airport (yellow / blue Istanbulkart machines), at any metro station and even in some small food kiosks (just ask if they have Istanbulkart).
• Card costs around 165 ₺ once, then you just top it up with any amount. (1 ride per person is around 35-50 lira depending on a type of transport)
• It doesn’t have any time limit. You can keep it and use it on your next trips. Mine is 5 years old and still works.
