1. One hour of email. Every morning. I block one hour to go through my inbox. Reply. Archive. Done. After that, I don’t open it again unless something is genuinely urgent. Because email is reactive work. If you live in your inbox all day, you’re just wasting time that could be used on important tasks. 2. Grind mode is protected. I block a chunk of time for deep work. No meetings. No calls. No context switching. This is where the heavy lifting happens. Strategy. Thinking. The tasks I’d otherwise procrastinate. I schedule it during my highest energy window, which for me is mornings. I don’t do well knowing I have 40 minutes before a meeting. I need mental runway. So I don’t book over it. 3. Meetings + lighter tasks go in the afternoon. Afternoons are my energy dip. So I use that time for meetings, admin, creative exploration, easier to dos. Instead of fighting my biology, I work with it. Now, does this always work perfectly? Absolutely not. Some days my inbox wins. Some days meetings spill everywhere. Some days I ignore my own rules. But having this structure has helped me actually finish what matters.

Write down the ONE thing you’re doing this session. Not your whole to-do list. Just one task. Clear your space. Put your phone on Do Not Disturb. Write down your exact start time. It creates real commitment. Step 2: 50 minutes of deep work. Work straight through. When a random thought pops up, write it on a separate piece of paper and go right back to the task. Unfinished thoughts can steal up to 40% of your working memory. Protect your flow state. It takes around 23 minutes to enter it and one notification to lose it. Step 3: 5 minutes to reset. Something that will make your body mentally or physically healthier 2. Watch an educational podcast. If you struggle to focus on a book, I recommend this 3. Read a book. Reading rather than watching I find make the information stick in my head more 4. Write down your goals. Sit down, write out what you want to achieve, and set a plan to get them 5. Do something you really love. A hobby, socialising, whatever it may be, spend time doing things that bring you joy 6. Spend time learning a new skill. Whether it’s for fun, or to bring in money, learn something valuable like content creation, filming, sales etc. 7. Practise mediation. If you can learn to sit and observe your own thoughts without needing a phone, you’re head of 99% of people. Don’t sleep on this one 8. Get outdoors. Even if it’s just your garden, sunlight or daylight is a natural mood booster, and it’s good for your health, so get outside my friend 9. Catch up on any housework. I know it sounds boring man, but cleaning up your environment or doing that thing you’ve been putting off will make your headspace so much clearer 10. We’re all human. I get that people will scroll on their phone. And you, yes YOU….i know you’re on your phone rn, so I’ll make a deal.
