Are you dealing with proximal hamstring tendon pain? It can often be misdiagnosed as piriformis pain or sciatica. If you have sit bone pain that’s worse with sitting and feels okay once you get running but worse after runs, it may be the hamstring tendon. If it’s overly irritated, avoiding stretching, sitting, speed, uphill running and deep hip flexion/hip hinge exercises is key. This is temporary of course! But you want to get the tendon sensitivity to settle. Once it calms down and you can start strength training to build up tendon capacity, you’ll be able to start sitting more, running faster and doing higher hamstring loading exercises. I’ve dealt with this injury myself and I can sprint, run hills and do deep hip flexion exercises now but it took a lot of strength and rehab to get here. Sometimes getting them unstuck can help reduce that tension- without stretching! Nerve tensioning vs flossing vs gliding Nerve tensioning: gently tensions or pulls the nerve in a lengthened position. It should be a mild sensation, if it stings or is too strong, reduce the movement until it feels productive Nerve flossing = nerve gliding and is the sliding of the nerve between the soft tissues without the feeling of heavy tension.
