Too rushed. That’s where this wall handstand drill comes in. This is what my handstand practice is looking like at 25 weeks pregnant 🐣 ad. @gymsharkwomen I’ve been practicing handstands for over 10 years now so it was something that I wanted to continue and is safe for me to continue given the control I have while I am upside down. I wouldn’t recommend starting your handstand journey while pregnant but these drills are all safe physiologically during pregnancy & inversions (not necessarily handstand) are great for labor prep. Thought I’d share just how much work goes into something like getting a tighter/better tuck handstand.🙃 ⠀ To the average person who doesn’t handstand, you probably don’t notice the difference but for those that do, the “After” is a more controlled/tighter tuck which is my goal. ⠀ Although I am hyper mobile in my joints, I am not flexible (go figure🤣)! I have to work for every inch of my flexibility. ⠀ Since I am hyper mobile in my joints, I also have to be super careful to make sure I am working on dynamic flexibility/mobility. ⠀ I have been really loving a handstand practice again. After I filmed my Inversions Make You Hot program, I decided to continue with a daily practice of handstands for just 15 min a day. ⠀ I’ve been pretty consistent for 12 months & I’m really feeling strong!💪🏻 ⠀ I do it mainly for stress reasons (I find handstand change my mood instantly) but also to keep my upper body and core strong (nothing quite like handstands for upper body strength!). ⠀ If you want me to share more of what I’m doing in my personal practice, let me know! Gymnast daughter got me to try some handstand practice. I did it a year or two ago, thought “ what the hell am I doing?”, then promptly put it away. Here I am again. It’s a trip at 59 years, I’ll say that much. Took me 20 minutes of mobility work ( which is truly good for me) just to be confident enough give it a go. I’ve done it two days, so there’s a chance a third is coming. Old dog trying old tricks. My mind remembers what it feels like, but my heavily ballasted 235 pounds is a lot more unruly that when I was young and doing this with ease. Still, I think I can get a bit more going than this. It’s a good start. Give something new or old a try. Is it fun?
