Here I am showing the SSP method to decrease purl stitches to the left, since this is my preferred way to do it. It’s the best technique for a firm and neat purled left leaning decrease, in my opinion. I just slip the both stitches separately knitwise on the right hand needle and then back to the left one. Then I insert the left needle into both from the back and purl them (working a purl through back loop). To make it easier to work this ptbl, I first yank both stitches open and keep the opened up loops with my finger in place.
