One of the most important skills beginner swimmers should learn is floating on both the front and the back. Many people want to start swimming immediately, but without learning to float first, swimming often feels difficult and exhausting. Floating teaches you how to trust the water and relax your body, which are essential for good technique. Why floating is so important for beginners: 💧 It builds confidence and reduces fear of the water 💧 It helps develop balance and body awareness 💧 It teaches swimmers how to relax and breathe calmly 💧 It improves overall body position in the water 💧 It creates the foundation for learning all strokes Swimming becomes much easier when your body learns how to stay balanced and supported by the water. That’s why floating is one of the first skills every swimmer should master. Save this post and practice it next time you’re in the pool. #swim #teaching #floating #beginner #swimmer

Staying afloat is a skill, not strength, here’s the pattern.👇🏼 Staying afloat comes from continuous pressure on the water and it is created by SCULLING🤲🏼 Sculling is a hand-and-forearm technique that helps you stay afloat, balance, and move in the water by making small, controlled “sweeping” motions. Think of it like this: your hands are little paddles. Instead of pushing straight down, you angle your hands and sweep side to side so the water pushes back against you. ✅ Survival 👇🏼 Staying afloat comes from continuous pressure on the water. This is a tight figure-8 scull, elbows close, forearms like paddles. Your hands slice + press at a slight angle, so the water pushes you back up. Small pattern, steady speed = steady lift, and you conserve energy.” ❌ Panic 👇🏼 This is what panic looks like, wide sweeping arms. Every big swing breaks your pressure, you shove water down randomly, your hands pop too close to the surface, and you lose the ‘grip.’ More effort, less lift = you sink faster and gas out.” ✅Tight figure-8 = constant support. ❌ Wide slap-sweeps = broken support + faster fatigue. 💎Save this so you remember it under stress, and follow @liquidlearningschool for the exact sculling drills that make deep water feel easy.

When floating on your back, you may lift your head and chest because you are afraid of sinking or getting water on your face. But this doesn’t keep you afloat — it actually makes you sink. Swimming is not about strength, it’s about using the buoyancy of water. Thanks to the air in our lungs and the fat in our bodies, water naturally supports us. All you need to do is calmly let yourself go into the water, as if you were lying on a bed. Do not lift anything. Do not move your head, neck, or body. Relax, lie flat, and let the water carry you. 🍀 🍀 #swim #swimming #swimminglife #swimmingtechnique #swimcoach #learnswimming #adultswimming #watersafety #waterconfidence #floattraining #backfloat #swimtraining #swimtips #fitness #fitnesslife #fitnessmotivation #fitbody #bodycontrol #corestrength #mindbody #openwater #sea #oceanlife #freedominwater #movement #healthylifestyle #fearless #confidence #activebody

Back float 🐬 - one of the key water safety skills we teach our students. Not always an easy one to master, especially if you’re afraid of water. Swimming rule #1 , don’t do it alone applies to back float too! It takes several tries before you’ll be comfortable to relax and put your head on the water surface so a coach will gently hold your head at first. See other drills to practice in preparation for an independent back float in this video with our coach Ho Yi. Remember that your boyancy(ability to float) depends on such factors as your body type and size. Things that can affect how high or low you float include your body mass index, muscle density, lung size and the floating shape you’ve adopted. Don’t be discouraged if you loose balance or your legs sink. Do small adjustable movements and find position that works for your body. The most important is the feeling of trust to the water, the shape will come with practice. Safe floating ❤️ . . . #backfloat #backfloats #watersafety #adultbeginner #beginnerswimmer #learnhowtoswim #learnswimming #swimschool
