How able are you be fully present, self aware, able to identify what you feel, express what you are thinking, and remain creatively open to whatever happens in this moment? If you are consistently demonstrating these learnable skill sets through practice, then AI will not displace you in work or relationships; you will be become even more valuable. If you think there’s space for deepening any or all of these; watch the 8 minute TEDx talk linked in my bio. #depthpsychology #tedxtalks #tedtalk

This is why visualizations AREN’T ❌ that powerful — they’re only half the story. ACTIONS is the other half! Neuroplasticity at its core! 🧠 The brain needs evidence to update its belief system and update its predictive models for your future experiences/actions — and those evidence are your past actions. So think new beliefs + act! This is another reason why change can feel slow ⏰ over time, because small changes and actions every day are what leads to change and an entirely different life 📈. Thoughts don’t command what we do. They are an adaptive evolving model that defines what we do and can prime our future self! ❌ Thoughts don’t cause actions. ✅ Thoughts CAN predict future actions. ✅ You can change your life through new thoughts AND actions that support it Visualizing success helps up a little. But acting and reflecting too helps a LOT. I learned this in my first lecture of my intro neuroscience course in university, and it really changed my perspective on how I think and move through the world, so I thought I’d share. The brain, and your thoughts, hold so much power. 🧠 if you’re new here - hey! I’m an undergrad STEM student learning how to balance her studies, content creation, staying motivated, the gym, and learning callisthenics 📈

We learn more than neuro-cognitively. Our capacities are far greater than we even know. The recent global information on IQ’s and general test scores are lower than generations since the late 1800’s. What does this say about us and the future? What do you know? #drterriehope #being #future #performance

When neuroscientist @jared.cooney.horvath speaks about EdTech, I listen. From his opening testimony right now: “So, a sad fact we have to face is this. Our kids are less cognitively capable than we were at their age.” “Gen. Z is the first generation in modern history to underperform us on basically every cognitive measure.” We have to do better! EdTech is a disaster.

“WHAT DID SHE SAY?” The observer effect is the moment when you and your friend debrief on an event and you realise how different your view was. As much as what happens is the same for everyone, the way we process reality is subjective to each individual - and it all starts from the way your brain is wired to activate focus. Change your focus and your whole perspective will change. #neuroscience #braintraining #brainfacts #focus #adhd
