✨ If your child is always on the go — it doesn’t mean they’re naughty or misbehaving. Hyperactivity is often the body’s way of saying: 👉 “I need to move so I can feel calm and focused.” For many kids, this is linked to sensory needs. Their brain craves movement to regulate — and when we simply ask them to “sit still,” it can backfire. Instead of calming down, they may become restless, anxious, or upset. 💡 So what can parents do? Make movement part of their daily routine — not a reward, but a need. Here are some simple strategies: ✔️ Wall pushes or chair pushes before sitting to study ✔️ Heavy work like carrying grocery bags or arranging cushions ✔️ Safe jumping on a mattress or trampoline ✔️ Sensory play with water, playdough, or kinetic sand ✔️ Movement breaks every 20–25 minutes 🌱 Hyperactive kids don’t need strict control — they need understanding and the right tools to balance their energy. Because when a child feels understood, they feel calmer and more connected. 💙 Follow Global Child Wellness Centre for more parent-friendly strategies to support kids with hyperactivity. #hyperactivity #hyperactivekids #kidswithhyperactivity #childdevelopment #parentingtips #tipsforhyperactivity #hyperactivechild #globalchildwellness #besttherapycentre #reels

If your child is hyperactive — it’s not about being naughty or misbehaving. Hyperactivity is their body’s way of saying “I need to move to feel better.” It’s often linked to sensory needs — their brain needs movement to feel calm and focused. And asking them to “sit still” without fulfilling this need? It only makes them more restless, frustrated, and anxious. What should you do as a parent? → Create a movement-friendly routine at home. Movement is not a reward for finishing homework — it’s a need for their regulation. Here’s what helps: ✔️ Wall pushes or chair pushes before study time. ✔️ Heavy work activities like carrying grocery bags or lifting cushions. ✔️ Safe jumping on a mattress or trampoline. ✔️ Sensory play — water play, kinetic sand, playdough for calming input. ✔️ Movement breaks after every 20-25 minutes of sitting. Remember — hyperactive kids don’t need control. They need understanding and the right strategies to help them balance their energy. We’ve shared practical movement ideas in the caption to support your child better. Because an understood child is always a calmer child. Parents often make the biggest mistake with hyperactive children ignoring the early signs. Sometimes it happens due to non-awareness, and sometimes because of social pressure: “Abhi chhota hai…” “School jaayega toh theek ho jaayega…” But the truth is — before a child enters school, he must be school-ready. A child needs to learn: • how to sit and focus • how to follow instructions • how to socialize with other children • how to regulate emotions and energy If a child struggles with these skills, school alone cannot fix it. Early psychological guidance and parenting awareness can make a huge difference in helping hyperactive children develop the emotional and behavioral regulation they need. Awareness is the first step toward mindful parenting. ✨ If you are a parent of a hyperactive or highly energetic child, don’t wait for things to “settle on their own.” Seek the right guidance at the right time. 👉 Join my Parenting Community for Hyper Kids to learn practical strategies to raise calm, confident, and emotionally regulated children. If your child has trouble falling asleep, struggles with staying asleep, tosses and turns, or frequently changes positions during the night, try this! Sleep problems in children are one of the signs of sensory processing issues. The nervous system is highly stimulated but lacks proper calming and regulation. That’s why sensory integration therapy comes to the rescue. I teach children and parents how to cope with problems and show them how to easily work with the child at home. 🙌🏼 10 snacks for kids with ADHD ⬇️ This past winter my daughter and I were BOTH diagnosed with ADHD - her with the hyperactive/impulsivity version and me with a combo of hyperactive/impulsive and inattentive. Since then I’ve been digging into the research to understand the best foods to ADD to my daughter and I’d diet, specifically hers. She’s a light eater as it is, and since we added a medication that has a side effect of suppressing her appetite, the last thing I want to do is restrict her diet and I take further by taking away foods. So instead I take the approach of what can we ADD? There’s many nutrients that are beneficial for our brain and managing the tendencies of ADHD, but nothing by itself “gets rid of” or is a magic pill for ADHD symptoms. Instead it’s a variety of tools that you utilize based on your situation in the moment and different tools work for different people. These snack ideas are great for kids with ADHD either because of their nutrients or how they’re offered. Follow @HackTheParenting for smart, positive, and practical parenting tips that actually work! Hyperactive kids don’t need more discipline—they need more connection. Clinical psychologist Dr. Craig Childers explains how children with ADHD and high energy levels often lack structure, not motivation. Instead of getting frustrated, engage them in rhythm—turn-taking, dialogue, back-and-forth play. That’s how they regulate, learn to focus, and begin tuning in to others. Parenting a hyperactive child isn’t about managing them—it’s about meeting them where they are. #Childcare #Trust #Connection #ParentingMatters #ParentingHacks #ADHDParenting #HyperactivityHelp #ParentWithConnection #TurnTakingTools #RegulateWithRelationship Credits: Dr. Craig Childress is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of ADHD and angry-oppositional relationship disorders of childhood Disclaimer: The content on this page is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional parenting or educational advice. ADHD doesn’t look the same in everyone! While Hyperactive ADHD is easier to spot, Inattentive ADHD is often overlooked—especially in girls. Understanding the differences helps us support our kids in the way they need most. Hyperactive ADHD 🔥 • Always moving or fidgeting (even when sitting) • Talks a lot, interrupts, blurts things out • Acts before thinking, struggles with impulse control • Craves stimulation and gets bored easily • Finds it hard to sit still or stay quiet Inattentive ADHD 🌙 • Daydreams & zones out (especially in class) • Forgets tasks & deadlines, struggles with organization • Easily distracted by everything around them • Has trouble starting & finishing tasks • Seems like they’re not listening (but they are!) ✨ Why does this matter? Many kids with ADHD struggle not because they don’t care, but because their brain works differently. The key is supporting their unique needs with ADHD-friendly strategies—and that’s exactly what I teach inside Quiet the Chaos. 💡 Want to make ADHD parenting easier? Inside Quiet the Chaos, you’ll learn how to: ✔️ Build routines that actually work for ADHD brains ✔️ Reduce power struggles & meltdowns ✔️ Support focus, transitions, and executive function ✔️ Feel calm & confident in your parenting 🎉 Join today! Hyperactive Kids Need Movement, Not Control “Sit quietly.” “Don’t jump.” “Why can’t you stay still like other kids?” If you’ve said this to your child, pause for a moment. Hyperactivity is not misbehavior. It is untrained energy. Most parents try to calm hyperactive kids by stopping movement. But the child’s brain actually learns through movement. Here’s what works — the Sandwich Technique. First, allow movement. Jumping. Running. Climbing. Then bring them into focus — reading, writing, Lego, painting. Once done, allow movement again. This trains the brain when to be active and when to stay calm. You don’t need stricter rules. You need smarter parenting. Hyperactive kids are not a problem. They are our future — if we channel their energy correctly. Save this. Share this with a parent who needs to hear it. — Dr Swetha Reddy Telugu Parenting Coach | Life Coach Smart Parenting #HyperactiveKids #SmartParenting #ParentingTipsIndia #TeluguParenting #PositiveParenting MomLifeIndia
