RHWall balls… doing them right vs doing them wrong
Good reps! Video on the left is the standard to aim for:
- Full depth with hips clearly below the knee crease.
- Ball hits the centre of the target.
Tips:
- Use the rebound out of the squat to use momentum to your advantage
- Start to move into the squat position before you’ve received the ball
- Catch the ball into your neck and use your body’s upward motion out of the squat as extra momentum to throw it to the target
- Find steady rhythm that allows controlled breathing.
Video 2 - Top right
- No reps due to inaccuracy hitting the target and missing depth
- Too far forward and unstable.
- Collapsing at the bottom, compressing the diaphragm and killing your breathing.
- Ball thrown low and out in front, forcing you to pull forward.
- Slow, inefficient reps that miss the target and risk no-reps.
Video 3 — Bottom Right
No depth.
Even with a good position and cadence, parallel isn’t enough. No depth = no rep.
Wall balls don’t fail you .. mechanics do. Small errors compound fast under fatigue.
Record yourself. Keep it simple. Fix the basics early!
Using the techniques in the first video I’ve managed to get 3× 100-unbroken wall ball patches🎯 but they wasn’t always my strength! Repetition pays off, and it can all be practiced!
