He explained his own personal bias, where he got great results with one particular diet (flexible dieting) and because of that, people who were interested in flexible dieting came to him. You will often see this in little dieting cults. For example, someone will be a huge low carb proponent. They will market themselves as being very heavily low carb. They will attract people who are interested in low carb diets and sooner or later, they have a little echo chamber of low carb fans. This is why you can Google literally any diet on the planet and you will find little groups of people talking about how amazing it is. Finding a diet (or training) plan that works for you is awesome, obviously. But it’s extra awesome to be able to zoom out and see the bigger picture. Because realising that the diet that’s awesome for you might not be awesome for everyone else is a much smarter place to be. So, don’t trust people who constantly ram one specific diet down your throat. Make sense? P.S. There isn’t anything wrong with snacking. BUT, many aren’t wanting to “snack” on the types foods that help us meet our goals. When we eat “bird like” meals we are left hungry and looking for more. Snacking can lead to overeating and not sticking to our plan if we are always unsatisfied by our meals. The majority of people aren’t snacking on protein and fiber, they looking for hyperpalatable food which can be very easy to over consume. If your current plan is serving your goals and you feel good, then there is no need to change anything! BUT, if you are always thinking about food and find yourself over eating, (especially at night) then it’s time to make a change. Bulk up those meals with more protein, fiber, and calories and watch your desire to eat all these snacks fade. It starts with eating a filling breakfast shortly after you wake up. My goodness, if I had a dollar for every person who told me how many calories they were eating while constantly failing on their weight loss program I’d be hanging out with Elon And Bezos on the Forbes list! Imagine if everyone FIRST focused on the quality of their nutrition before worrying about the amount of calories they consumed. It is the quality of your nutrient intake that predicates your bodies response to those ingredients. Simply put, if I consumed 2000 calories of wild-caught salmon everyday, or 2000 calories of potato chips, which version of me would be 1) healthier 2) more energized 3) more athletic 4) more satiated? Yes, that is an extreme example but also very telling. Simply put… START EATING REAL FOOD! STOP EATING ULTRA-PROCESSED FOOD!
