🔄 Inversión y Eversión del Tobillo: ¿Qué son y cómo ocurren? ¿Sabías que los movimientos que permiten que el pie “gire hacia adentro o hacia afuera” no suceden exactamente en el tobillo? 🤔 📌 Inversión: es el movimiento que orienta la planta del pie hacia la línea media del cuerpo. 📌 Eversión: es el movimiento contrario, llevando la planta del pie hacia afuera, alejándose de la línea media. 🦶 Estos movimientos NO ocurren en la articulación talocrural (la clásica “articulación del tobillo”, que solo permite flexión plantar y dorsiflexión), sino que suceden en un conjunto de articulaciones: La subastragalina, La astrágalonavicular y La calcaneocuboidea (todas parte de la articulación transversa del tarso). 💪 Músculos que los generan: Para la inversión: los protagonistas son el tibial anterior y el tibial posterior, que al contraerse rotan el pie hacia medial. Para la eversión: actúan el peroneo largo y el peroneo corto, que tiran el pie hacia lateral. 🧠 Desde el punto de vista neurológico: La eversión depende del nervio peroneo superficial. Las personas hiperlaxas tienden a tener una mayor flexibilidad en sus articulaciones debido a la laxitud de los ligamentos. Recordemos que es una falla en el tejido conectivo y abunda en todo el cuerpo . Esto puede influir en la postura corporal, contribuyendo a una cabeza adelantada, cifosis pronunciada y retroversión pélvica. Es la falta de estabilidad en las articulaciones puede afectar la alineación de la columna vertebral y la pelvis, generando compensaciones posturales que aumentan la hiperlaxitud en las rodillas. Este conjunto de todo esto puede dar lugar a una cadena de adaptaciones posturales para mantener el equilibrio y la movilidad en un cuerpo con mayor elasticidad articular. Trouble inverting? If you can get to number four you have the strength! If you want to improve your swing and invert speed and power, throw these into your training! The routine is as follows. (This is a section in my book over at Team-Hoot.com) 1. Knee raisers 2. L-ups 3. Toes to the bar 4. Shoulder drop tucks 5. Split leg inverts 6. Shins to the bar 7. Knees to the bar 8. Quads to the bar 9. Full pv inverts (Bubkas) 10. Pole vault invert reverse (Sets and reps are determined by the athletes needs. I tend to do 5 reps of each with a min rest, or 50 total reps. It an athletes can only get to number 6 then we stick at 6 and sometimes we need to regress down the ladder) You may have noticed I have the routine progressing in inverting difficulty with one being the easiest and 10 being the hardest. I've found that If the vaulter can get to number 4 then they have the strength to invert and we can work on technical things. This is the long way of saying to make sure the strength is there before you start trying to technically fix an invert. Hope this helps! Inversion therapy basically means you hang yourself upside down using special padded callipers around your ankles. The theory is that gravity helps provide traction and reduce the pressure on the discs of the spine. There is no strong evidence to support its use but some people like it as part of a holistic programme of rehabilitation. Most well-designed studies that have looked at Inversion Therapy have failed to show any long-term effects and the Mayo Clinic labelled it as ineffective. It is associated with risks. For example, if you have high blood pressure, eye problems like Glaucoma or have suffered a stroke then you should not try this. I tried it so I can speak from experience.
