AQJeff Bezos is an American entrepreneur, investor, and commercial space pioneer best known as the founder of Amazon. Born on January 12, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he showed an early interest in science and technology. He graduated from Princeton University in 1986 with a degree in electrical engineering and computer science. After working on Wall Street in finance and hedge funds, he left a high-paying job in 1994 to start an online bookstore called Amazon from his garage in Seattle.
Amazon quickly expanded beyond books into electronics, clothing, cloud computing, and nearly every major retail category. Under Bezos’ leadership, the company grew into one of the largest and most influential businesses in the world. He also launched Amazon Web Services, which became a dominant force in cloud computing and a major driver of the company’s profits. Beyond Amazon, Bezos founded Blue Origin, a private aerospace company focused on space travel and long-term human settlement in space. He also purchased The Washington Post in 2013 and has invested in various technology and media ventures. For several years, he was one of the richest people in the world, and he remains a prominent figure in global business, innovation, and space exploration.
