Oh well, basically it says this: Today the botanical name of this tree is #Polyscias_racemosa but I’ll forever call it the botanical name I learned #Munroidendron_racemosum. Here’s some of the fruit that’s prime for harvest. This extremely rare tree is only found naturally on the island of Kaua’i in very low numbers, typically in #mesicforest habitats. What makes this tree so rare are a number of factors including but not limited to: Habitat loss, predation from feral ungulates like goats and deer, fruit predation by rats and pigs and other smaller pests like stem borers. However, as vulnerable as this tree is in the wild, they’re one of the easiest trees to grow and require little watering once established. They’re easily one of the most unique, almost prehistoric looking trees and are so beautiful when in bloom and also while fruiting (also edible fruit) as you can see in the latter pics. Related to the non-native, highly invasive #Schefflera_actinophylla, a.k.a. the #octopusTree, these trees should be planted all over Kaua’i in as many landscapes as possible along with all the other Kaua’i specific endemics such as all the native #Hibiscus that come from there and all the different #loulu palms! به رخ هر بیننده می کشاند.
انگار لابلای ریشه های تنومندش که از خاک بیرون است داستان ها و حرفها برای گفتن دارد.
همچون پدربزرگی که در پس سالها زندگی در دنیا تجربیات نابی دارد و تو
قدر آن را میدانی.
شاید همین باشد که این درخت برای بومیان تا این اندازه مقدس است...

درخت لور یا انجیر معابد که به “مکر زن” هم معروف است یکی از بلندترین درختان جنگلهای بارانی است و چرخه زندگی غیرمعمولی دارد. دانههای آن در درون فضله پرندگان بر روی درختان دیگر سقوط میکند. این دانهها جوانه میآورند که ریشههایش را به پایین به سمت زمین میفرستد. شاخههای گیاه تنه درخت میزبان را دربرگرفته به تدریج آن را خفه میکنند به همین دلیل به این درخت نام درخت خفهکننده را نیز دادهاند. سپس درخت انجیر معابد بر روی پای خود میایستد.

درخت لور یک درخت مقدس برای بومیان جزیره کیش هست و هیچ کس حق قطع کردن یا بریدن شاخه های این درخت را نداره به همین دلیل گوشه گوشه جزیره این درخت زیبا دیده میشه و حتی اگر وسط کوچه یا خیابان هم باشه دور تا دور اون نرده کشیده شده تا آسیبی به اون وارد نشه.
درخت سبز هم که یک پارک زیبا ست یکی از جاذبه های دیدنی جزیره بوده و از همین گونه است که در نزدیکی شهر تاریخی حریره واقع شده.
