These are the little details I think about the most when designing a kitchen. The ones that don’t scream for attention, but quietly pull everything together and make the space feel intentional, timeless, and a little bit charming. In our kitchen, I chose unlacquered brass latches, knobs and pulls to complement the warm cabinet color and walnut accents we’ve used throughout our home. It’s subtle, but it adds so much warmth and character. And the character will only continue as the brass patinas over time, telling our homes story. A few things I always keep in mind when choosing hardware: ✨ Don’t be afraid to mix finishes — just keep them within the same tone. My go to method: hardware one finish and plumbing fixtures another finish. My favorite pairings are unlaquered brass + polished nickel. ✨ Latches on uppers bring that cozy, old-house charm I love ✨ Shape matters — stick with styles that feel classic and enduring. A frequently asked question I get when clients are doing a kitchen renovation is: “What size should my drawer pulls be?”🤔 For kitchen drawers, a good rule of thumb in general is to choose pull lengths that are approximately one-third the width of the drawer front. If you have wider drawers, consider using two pulls or longer pulls.  Here’s a more detailed breakdown 👇🏻 🌿The “One-Third” Rule:
This guideline helps create a visually pleasing and balanced look. For example, a 30-inch drawer would ideally have a 10-inch pull (30 / 3 = 10). 
 🌿Smaller Drawers:
For drawers 12 inches or less, pulls between 3 and 4 inches long or knobs with a 1-inch diameter often work well. 
 🌿Larger Drawers:
For drawers 30 inches or wider, consider pulls longer than 8 inches or knobs with a 1-inch diameter or greater. You can also use two pulls or knobs on larger drawers. 
 🌿Modern Look:
For a more contemporary look, you can choose pulls that are half to three-quarters the width of the drawer front or the height of a door. 🌿Spacing:
When using two pulls, divide the drawer width into thirds and center the pulls on those lines.

One of the most frequently asked questions about our kitchen is about our cabinet hardware. I knew that I wanted to have various sizes and mix the style between pulls and knobs on our cabinets. We have large and small pullout drawers, so we went with different size hardware for those drawers. We added a small size knob(not too small) to all the kitchen cabinets. I love this beautiful honey bronze color. It’s not yellow or too dark, it’s the perfect shade of a soft gold. Which I love against our white kitchen cabinets, and it compliments perfectly with our champagne bronze kitchen faucet. Kitchen hardware size: -medium pullout drawer 6 5/16 in.
