TETruth….Lagree is hard!
But that doesn’t mean it’s only for the strongest bodied people.
One of the (many) incredible things about Lagree is that it is infinitely modifiable. Which means that everyone is able to get an incredibly intense workout, regardless of age, injury, or limitation.
As a Lagree instructor, it is your responsibility to know how to advance and modify any exercise in your rolodex. It may be appropriate to offer certain students a modification so they can stay in the exercise and maintain tension throughout the move.
Modifying any lunge with a slightly forward hinged spine is just one example. This small tweak could make it possible for someone to reap the massive benefits of Lagree while staying inside the parameters of their body.
And note, modifications don’t have to be permanent. Briana’s 74 year old mother started to do Lagree three years ago and had to modify a whole lot of exercises in the beginning. With strength gain and practice, today she modifies almost nothing! Go Carla! 👏
