Lax Core: Letting your lower back hyperextend (arch) risks back injury. ✅ The Perfect Fix for Back Gains: Hinge Forward: Initiate a hip hinge to lean forward, locking your torso into a 30-45 degree angle. Core Tight: Brace your core to keep your spine neutral. Try This Cable Lat Pullover Variation! _ Disclaimer: There is nothing wrong with performing the exercise the first way. If you enjoy it and have seen results then there’s no need to change anything. _ The cable lat pullover is a great exercise to target the lats but a lot of people myself included struggle to feel that mind muscle connection when performing the movement. _ Adding a bench and performing the exercise seated will add stability helping you focus on that mind muscle connection so that you can better target the lats. _ Start by setting the bench between a 45 & 60 degree angle and set the cable height to right where your hands line up if you reach straight up. Using an overhand grip create an arch as you pull the bar to your waistline. Follow the same arch on the eccentric stopping when the cable is above your head. _ 💥Hit the save & follow button if you enjoyed this tip. This engages your lats and prevents your upper traps from taking over. 2️⃣ Drive Your Elbows Down Once your shoulders are set, think about driving your elbows toward your hips rather than pulling the bar with your hands. This keeps the focus on your back muscles. 3️⃣ Control the Range of Motion Pull the bar down to your upper chest while keeping your chest tall. Avoid leaning too far back, which can turn the movement into a row. 4️⃣ Slow and Controlled Return On the way up, fully extend your arms to get a deep stretch in the lats.
