Share with someone who makes this mistake 🚀 , Tricep dips on a machine are an excellent way to target all three heads of the triceps, with a primary focus on the lateral and medial heads. However, many people make a mistake when they use too much weight, leading to shoulder shrugging during each rep. This can reduce the effectiveness of the exercise by shifting the focus to your shoulders instead of your triceps. 👉 Why is this a problem? Shrugging your shoulders causes scapular elevation, which leads to using more of the shoulder muscles (up to 60%), leaving your triceps only around 40% engaged. This not only hinders your tricep gains but could also increase the risk of injury. ✅ The solution: To really target your triceps, reduce the weight so you can perform controlled reps. Keep your shoulder blades pulled down and locked in place throughout the movement.
