If you’re training for a marathon, Easy runs will make up the majority of your miles. Easy running can help build endurance and improve running economy without over stressing your body. Most long runs are run at an easy pace. However, because of the duration, long runs tend to require a harder effort and place more stress on your body. For more experienced marathon runners, long runs can be run at a faster pace and incorporate hill training, intervals, and tempo paces to help with race specific preparation. #marathontraining #runningtips

The thing is, those runs are for your HR training anyway, so it doesn’t technically need to be a run. Doing a low impact cardio instead of a run on these days can be SO much easier on your body ##marathontraining #workoutroutine #runningtips #runninginjury

Being too aggressive with increasing has shown to significantly increase runners risk of injury. Keep volume progression below 10% per week. It may sound like a number you can play with but it is crazy that every time I try and push this I start noticing a niggle here or just suffer a setback.
