I was always the boy who never quite knew where he belonged. The one who couldn’t fall asleep because his thoughts were louder than the world outside. The one who kept losing things - keys, wallets… himself.
Back then, I didn’t know what ADHD was exactly. I just thought something was wrong with me. That I felt too much, thought too fast, forgot too often. I didn’t understand why others could focus while my brain switched channels without asking. Why I could be brilliant in chaos, but drown in the simplest structure.
Now it might look like I’ve got it all under control. Maybe, in some ways, I do. I’ve learned to turn restlessness into movement, overwhelm into creativity. I’ve built a life that makes space for the noise in my head - and sometimes even turns it into something beautiful.
Maybe I’ve always been more of an observer than a talker - because emotions made more sense to me than rules. Because art has always been the one place I could put all the noise, the joy, the fear - and turn it into something that speaks when I can’t.
But if I’m honest, I’ve always been afraid.
Afraid of the words “we need to talk,” because something always seemed to break after that. Afraid of waking up one day and realizing there’s nothing left to experience for the first time. Afraid that this - right now - might already be as good as it gets.
But I’ve also learned something.
Sometimes, you only start to understand others once you’ve completely lost yourself. Sometimes, clarity comes when you stop trying so hard to find direction. And sometimes, you find your place in the world the moment you stop trying to fit.
Maybe that’s what it’s really about - carrying dreams that scare you, and fears that never fully go away. Learning to live with the chaos, not in spite of it. And even learning to love the parts of you that never made sense to anyone else.
Because maybe you’re not here to be understood.
You’re here to be real.
To be you - fully, honestly, wildly, quietly. Just as you are!
