Read this couple’s full story here ⬇️ One of my clients once said this to me quietly in a session: ‘We’re married… but it feels like we’re just roommates sharing a house.’ They wake up together, but don’t really meet each other. Conversations are about bills, groceries, and who’s doing what next. There’s no fighting — but there’s also no warmth. No curiosity. No touch. What hurt them the most wasn’t the absence of love. It was the absence of being seen. Over time, they had stopped turning towards each other emotionally. Not because they didn’t care — but because disconnection had become… normal. In therapy, we didn’t start with ‘fixing the marriage.’ We started with a simple question: When was the last time you felt emotionally chosen by your partner? Because relationships don’t usually die from big betrayals. They fade when two people stop reaching for each other in small ways. And sometimes, the first step back from being roommates… is learning how to be emotionally present again - one moment at a time. ❤️‍🩹 Press this point to help your body slow down and settle when things feel overwhelming. This point is called Shen Men. In Chinese medicine, it’s traditionally associated with calming the Shen — often described as our spirit, emotional state, and mental wellbeing. Gently massage this point on both ears for 30–60 seconds, using light pressure and slow circles. If stress, work pressure, or mental overload feels constant, you might like to apply an ear seed here for gentle, ongoing stimulation throughout the day. If you want more information about my 24-karat gold ear seed kit, comment SEEDS and I’ll send you the details. #nervoussystem #acupressure #acupuncture #chinesemedicine Educational content only. When the sun starts hanging out a little longer and your brain chemistry goes: ✨ WE RIDE AT DAWN ✨ Meanwhile these goats are out here living their best, zoomiest lives…and those who know me know that I am here for ALL the cute animal videos! There’s a reason those longer days can feel like a mood upgrade. Sunlight matters. It helps: • ☀️ Increase serotonin • 😴 Support healthier sleep-wake cycles (circadian rhythm) • ⚡ Boost energy and focus • 🌱 Gently regulate our nervous system Translation: your brain might be responding to spring before you even realize it! But quick reality check (because mental health is nuanced): Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) doesn’t follow strict calendar rules, and a common misconception is that SAD only happens in the winter. You can experience SAD, or any seasonal mood shifts, in any season. More sunlight doesn’t magically fix everything, and needing support doesn’t mean you’re “doing it wrong.” Whether you’re feeling energized like these goats… or still feeling foggy, tired, or overwhelmed, both experiences are valid. A few grounding reminders as the seasons shift: • 🌿 Keep getting outside, even in small doses, and moving your body in ways that bring you joy • 🧠 Check in with your mental health, not just the weather • 💤 Protect your sleep (longer days ≠ less rest needed) • 📓 Stick with coping tools that already support you • 🤍 Ask for help early: support is preventative, not a last resort, and a sign of strength Support matters: • If you or someone you know is experience a mental health concern or crisis, call or text 988 anytime for mental health support (an online chat is also available on their website) • Therapy, coaching, and peer support can be helpful year-round. If looking for one-on-one health education and mental wellbeing coaching, we can help! • If seasonal changes feel challenging, a provider can help you plan ahead If today feels like goat-level joy…lean into it. If it doesn’t, no need to force the zoomies. Mental wellbeing isn’t about matching the season, it’s about listening to your body and meeting yourself where you are. #mentalhealth #animals #babygoat #recovery #coaching

Depression is very complex and everyone will respond to different things. These are just things that have made a difference in my recovery, but only small pieces of the puzzle. If you’re struggling, professional support is always a great option alongside lifestyle changes. Here are 12 things I stopped doing that made a real difference in my healing: 🥛Buy fat-free dairy products: Your brain is nearly 60% fat and needs quality fats to produce neurotransmitters and function properly. 🛜 Leave the WiFi on at night: Reducing EMF exposure during sleep helped improve my sleep quality and overall nervous system regulation. 🍯 Use popular zero-calorie sweeteners: These can disrupt gut health, and the gut-brain connection is crucial for mental wellbeing. 🅱️ Take conventional B vitamins: I have the MTHFR gene mutation, so my body can’t convert synthetic folic acid into usable methylfolate. 🌿 Not prioritizing protein and fiber: Protein contains the building blocks for neurotransmitters (serotonin and dopamine). 💤 Get less than 8 hours of sleep: Consistent, restorative sleep became non-negotiable for stabilizing my mood and energy. 🗣️ Engage in negative self-talk: Learning to speak to myself with compassion changed how I moved through hard days. 🥦 Skip a day eating fruits and veggies: A variety of fruits and veggies contribute to a complete nutrient profile that are vital to our mental health. 🍓 Avoid all carbs: Carbs aren’t the enemy. Your body needs them for energy production. 👟 Skip workouts: Movement became medicine, even when it was just a 10-minute walk. 🔴 Let cortisol run my life: Prioritizing stress management helped regulate my nervous system in profound ways. ☀️ Stay inside all day: Getting sunlight and vitamin D was essential for regulating my mood and circadian rhythm. Disclaimer: This is not a replacement for medical advice. These are changes in my life that have had meaningful impact on my mental health. #depressionawareness #mentalhealth #depression #mentalhealthmatters #depressionhelp

🇨🇳 China’s 广场舞 (guǎngchǎng wǔ), or “square dancing,” is an evening tradition where neighbors gather in parks and plazas to dance fitness routines together. It’s especially popular with older women, often called “dà mā” (“aunties”), and has grown huge: China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism reported over 120 million regular participants in 2023. This square dancing movement began in the late-1990s due to economic changes that triggered mass layoffs. Group activities like square dancing offered structure, social support, and an inexpensive outlet for people. Many square dancers meet nightly at dusk and are from older generations. ➡️ Studies suggest group square dancing can support physical and mental wellbeing. We love to see women coming together for mutual community & wellness. 😌👯‍♀️💕 🎥: @astraexport 💃

From squats to glute bridges and the butterfly stretch - every Thursday after midday prayers a group of mostly 50- to 80-year-old men take part in a 45-minute pilates class at a mosque in West Yorkshire. “I think sometimes people are isolated and mosque is a safe environment for them,” says Zafar Kayani, 69, the pilates instructor. “They’re coming here for their spiritual health. Then getting that physical exercise and mental wellbeing, and they’re connecting with each other,” adds Kayani – with attenders saying they feel the benefit. After a TikTok video they posted advertising the classes at Jamia Usmania mosque in Bradford went viral – to the surprise of organisers – they have had interest from mosques across the UK and farther afield, including from Malaysia and Canada, with inquiries on how similar initiatives could be implemented for their congregation. Kayani believes that the physical and mental health benefits of the classes will have a positive impact on public health and the NHS. According to government health data on physical activity published in 2024, men from Asian (59.6%) and “other” (60%) ethnic groups are less likely to be active than the overall average (65.6%). Jamia Usmania’s general secretary, Mohammed Ilyas, says he wants to make the mosque “a community hub where people can join in other activities, which were provided by the council 20 years ago but are nonexistent now”. He adds: “Make it as accessible as possible, not just for the elders, for the young generation as well, make the mosque welcoming.” Read the full story via the link in bio.

What if one of the biggest nutrition mistakes we’re making isn’t what we eat, but what we’re missing? Comment “gut” and we’ll DM you the episode of @findingmastery with Dr. Tim Spector (@tim.spector) one of the world’s leading researchers on the gut microbiome and how it shapes metabolism, immunity, and even mental wellbeing. Tim argues we’ve been sold a story that we need more protein, when what many people are actually missing is fiber, the essential fuel our gut microbes depend on. He highlights the important of whole plants that support microbial health, and why fermented foods can punch far above their weight. It’s less about the rules and more about understanding the system inside you, then feeding it well. #gut #guthealthmatters #health #psychology

Chronic stress doesn’t just affect how you feel - it affects how your brain functions over time. When stress becomes persistent without proper recovery, the body accumulates allostatic load. Stress regulation isn’t only about mental wellbeing. It’s a long-term investment in brain health. 🧠 #StressScience #GoodStress #Eustress #MentalWellness #BrainHealth #circledna #neuroscience #neurosciencehealth
