Old @mudtools sponge vs new one- will they both do a good job?? Here is a little of the process involved in cleaning up my glazes. The colour has been painted on, then slowly wiped back so that it only remains in the inlayed section. Then a clear glaze goes over the lot at the end, and back into the kiln for a #cone10 firing. Porcelain comes out nice and white, crisp clear, and super strong. 🙌 FYI- that old white sponge I have is at least 5- 8 years old. They do last, even with all the excessive wiping back of glazes. The yellow sponge is also fine for taking off larger quantities- but for the finer details and cleanup there is nothing better than the white Mudtools sponge. Throw a plant pot shape and use the rib on the inside from the bottom to top while supporting outside along with the sponge to slowly expand.
