The pathogenicity of Red Planaria comes from their ability to proliferate and internal toxin. These flatworms have the ability to proliferate out of control if unregulated. Resulting in two problems. These worms do not eat coral; they do irritate the corals tissues, resulting in less polyp extension and unnecessary stress. If uninterrupted these worms will proliferate until the population is too large for the environment to support them. Resulting in a mass death of these worms and the release of their internal toxin. This toxin in a high enough concentration has the ability to cause a tank “crash”. In order to prevent this toxic crash event, if you have Red Planaria it is imperative to be running fresh activated carbon. This carbon has the ability to mop of the toxin in case the population crashes.

The latest update on the continued spread of high pathogenicity avian influenza across the world: - 59 outbreaks reported in poultry and 44 in non-poultry birds and mammals across the Americas, Asia and Europe. - Approximately 3.76 million poultry deaths or cullings, mostly in Asia. - New outbreaks in poultry remain relatively low compared to the previous 6 months. - Overall decrease in outbreaks in wild birds and mammals compared to March. Trehalose, a sugar commonly used in processed foods, has been linked to the increased severity of *Clostridioides difficile* (C. diff) colitis. Research suggests that *C. diff* strains, particularly more virulent types like RT027, can metabolize trehalose more efficiently, potentially contributing to their survival and enhanced pathogenicity in the gut. This increased growth may lead to more severe symptoms in infected individuals, such as diarrhea, inflammation, and colitis. While further studies are needed, the connection between trehalose consumption and the rise of severe *C. diff* infections has raised concerns about its use in food products. Abstract Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a multidrug-resistant pathogen whose virulence is orchestrated by quorum-sensing (QS) regulators, including LasR, QscR, and PqsR. Targeting these receptors with anti-virulence agents provides a sustainable strategy to attenuate pathogenicity without imposing bactericidal pressure. In this study, an integrated pharmacophore-guided virtual screening and docking pipeline was employed to identify potential QS modulators. Screening of more than 550,000 synthetic and natural compounds yielded three top candidates, STK649448, STK935680, and STL546559, selected for detailed docking evaluation. Docking simulations revealed strong binding affinities (-7.0 to -10.2 kcal/mol) and rich interaction profiles across multiple QS receptors. STK649448 demonstrated balanced hydrogen bonding and π-П stacking with LasR and QscR, STL546559 exhibited extensive multi-contact binding across QscR and PqSR through hydrogen bonding, aromatic stacking, and hydrophobic contacts, while STK935680 showed complementary polar and aromatic interactions with LasR and QscR. These diverse binding modes consistently engaged key residues critical for receptor activation, aligning with previously reported QS inhibitors. Collectively, the findings highlight STK649448, STK935680, and STL546559 as promising multi-target QS modulators capable of disrupting virulence pathways and biofilm formation in P. aeruginosa. Their structural diversity and receptor compatibility underscore their potential as anti-virulence agents. Future work will involve molecular dynamics simulations and experimental validation to advance these candidates toward therapeutic development.

Beef parasites Low freezing requirement The pathogenicity of parasites that survive is low, or the risk is uncommon. Beef can be fed to healthy dogs without being frozen; however, beef should be frozen for debilitated dogs and puppies who are more susceptible to disease. Beef parasites can be killed in 4 days at -20° C.

🚨 **Breaking News in Biotech** 🚨 Bacterial infections account for 1 in 8 global deaths, highlighting the urgent need for better understanding bacterial behavior, especially chemotaxis. 🦠🔬 Researchers are shifting from bioenergetics to chemotaxis, driven by insights into metabolite signaling. Notably, fumarate affects flagellar orientation, a key factor in pathogenicity. Using cryo-electron microscopy, they visualized the C-ring structure, revealing how it transmits torque and directional signals. These findings could revolutionize infection control by targeting bacterial movement. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking research! 🚀✨
