How do you create post-quantum cryptography? Post-quantum cryptography is cryptography (encryption, digital signatures) that runs on our current computers but is secure against quantum attacks. 🔢 Identify the hard #math problems not broken by quantum computers. Classic public key cryptography is based on problems like #factoring which are easy for quantum computers to solve. 🔑 Build crypto-systems based on these problems. Problems that are easy to solve in one direction but hard to reverse make good cryptography, but we also have to consider other factors like speed, small key sizes, and resistance to side channel attacks. 🔒 “Prove” the security of the crypto-system against quantum and current computers. For most cryptography it is difficult or impossible to prove its #secure, but you can show that breaking the cryptography is at least as hard as solving a well-known hard problem, especially NP-hard problems. 📈Assess the performance of the algorithm, compare the key sizes, speed of operations, and flexibility to other cryptographic algorithms.
