Game changer) 🅱 start saying you’re the NEXT age SIX MONTHS EARLIER—it eases you into it so you don’t wake up by your 40’s/50’s all “wahhhhh I’m 53!!” (Since I’ve been SAYING I’m 53 for the past 6 months!) I've said it before, and I'll say it again; the hormonal changes we experience as we age significantly impact our muscle tone, recovery, and energy levels. So those consistent high-intensity and cardio workouts we did in our 20s and 30s become unsustainable in our 40s & 50s. 🫣 That doesn't mean, as a middle-aged woman, you shouldn't do them; it just means you may need to shift and adapt. Want to see results, feel stronger, and be able to maintain? Try replacing some high-intensity/cardio workouts with strength training (weights, bands) and mobility and flexibility training (pilates, yoga). I wish someone had told me this about post-menopause… It’s not the finish line we imagine. Yes, your cycle has stopped. But that doesn’t mean everything else suddenly settles. Symptoms can still linger… quietly in the background. And then there are other new concerns that spring into life… • Bone density suddenly matters more than ever • Heart health moves centre stage • Joint stiffness continues to creep in • Pelvic floor changes can catch you off guard • Muscle loss begins to accelerate • Weight gain is so much easier… but harder to shift Not exactly the “freedom years” we were promised. But here’s the part I wish was talked about more…There is freedom here. A different kind. You know yourself better. You tolerate less. You have more say over how you live your life. And with the right approach, this stage can feel strong, steady, and surprisingly empowering. I see it every day. I have many post-menopause ladies in my membership…and I work closely with several through coaching too. They’re not winding down. Oh no.
