MR🔷 BASIC SEQUENCE OF ROTARY FILES & THEIR USES
1️⃣ Orifice Opener / SX
Use:
• Enlarge coronal third
• Remove cervical dentin interferences
• Improve straight-line access
• Reduce stress on apical files
📌 Used first after access opening
2️⃣ Shaping Files (Coronal & Middle Third)
👉 Examples: S1, S2 (ProTaper)
Use:
• Shape coronal and middle third
• Create smooth taper
• Facilitate deeper file penetration
• Allow better irrigation
📌 Used after glide path
3️⃣ Finishing Files (Apical Third)
👉 Examples: F1, F2, F3
Use:
• Enlarge and shape apical third
• Achieve final apical size
• Determine master apical file
• Prepare canal for obturation
📌 F2 is most commonly used as final file
🔷 CLINICAL FLOW (VERY IMPORTANT)
Access → Glide path → SX → S1 → S2 → F1 → F2/F3 → Irrigation → Obturation
