Pulse width modulation, is similar to the technique I use to get dynamics out of the robotic flute. I rev the fan in little bursts to make quiet notes. You can hear it in context on the song “Operaville.” The robotic flute was made by @diabolicallabsengineering782 on YouTube. #flute #musicproducers #experimentalmusic #robotics #engineering

Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) is a technique used in power electronics to control the output voltage of inverters. This method is particularly effective for applications requiring smooth and efficient voltage control, such as in adjustable speed drives or renewable energy systems. The core idea of SPWM is to modulate the width of the pulses in a pulse train to approximate a sinusoidal waveform. This is achieved by comparing a sinusoidal reference signal with a higher frequency triangular carrier wave. The points where the sinusoidal wave intersects the triangular wave determine the switching points of the inverter's transistors, thus controlling the output voltage. One of the key advantages of SPWM is its ability to reduce harmonic distortion in the output voltage. Harmonics can cause inefficiencies and heat generation in electrical systems, so minimizing them is crucial for optimal performance. SPWM achieves this by closely mimicking a pure sine wave, thereby reducing the total harmonic distortion (THD). Furthermore, SPWM allows for variable output voltage and frequency control, making it highly adaptable for different applications. This flexibility is particularly useful in renewable energy systems, where the inverter needs to convert variable DC input (like from solar panels or wind turbines) to a stable AC output. Overall, Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation is a sophisticated and efficient technique for controlling inverter output, making it a cornerstone technology in modern power electronics. . . . . . . . . #electronics #electricalengineering #electricalcircuits #electronicsengineering #controltheory #controlsystems #controlengineering #powerelectronics #electrician #electric #electrical #electricians #electricidad #electrics #electricalengineer #electronic #phisics #physics #physicslab #energy #energyengineering #math #mathproblems#simulation #digitalsystems #digitalelectronics #informatics

PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) is one of the most powerful techniques in electronics. Instead of reducing voltage like a variable resistor (which wastes power as heat), PWM switches the supply ON and OFF at very high speed. The secret lies in the duty cycle — the ratio of ON time to total time of one cycle. At 50% duty cycle: The signal is 5V for half the time And 0V for the other half So the average voltage becomes: (5 × 0.5) + (0 × 0.5) = 2.5V Important: The voltage is NOT actually reduced to 2.5V. It is still switching between 0V and 5V. But loads like LEDs, DC motors, and filters respond to the average value — which makes PWM extremely efficient. That’s why PWM is used in: • Motor speed control • LED dimming • SMPS • Inverters • Solar charge controllers • Microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32, etc.) High efficiency. Low heat loss. Smart power control. 📌PULSE AMPLITUDE MODULATION Pulse amplitude modulation is the simplest form of modulation. It is an Analog to digital conversion method where the message information is encoded in the amplitude of the series of signal pulses. Pulse amplitude modulation is a technique in which the amplitude of each pulse is controlled by the instantaneous amplitude of the modulation signal. It is a modulation system in which the signal is sampled at regular intervals and each sample is made proportional to the amplitude of the signal at the instant of sampling. This technique transmits the data by encoding in the amplitude of a series of signal pulses 🔶️The pulse amplitude modulation can be generated through 555IC by connecting one NPN transistor at the output. The connection of this IC can be done in the astable mode for producing a pulse train so that samples of the audio signal can be obtained.

Amplitude Modulation (AM) and Frequency Modulation (FM) are two fundamental techniques used in sound design to create and manipulate sounds. 1. **Amplitude Modulation (AM):** - In AM, the amplitude (volume) of a carrier signal is varied in accordance with the waveform of a modulator signal. - The frequency of the carrier signal remains constant. - This modulation technique creates sidebands in the frequency spectrum around the carrier frequency, which can add harmonic or inharmonic content to the sound. - AM is often used to create tremolo effects (a periodic variation in volume) or to add complexity to a sound by modulating it with another waveform. 2. **Frequency Modulation (FM):** - In FM, the frequency of a carrier signal is varied by the waveform of a modulator signal. - The amplitude of the carrier signal remains constant. - FM can create a wide range of harmonic and inharmonic spectra, leading to complex and rich sounds. - This technique is widely used in synthesis to create everything from bell-like tones to growling basses and intricate evolving textures. - The amount of frequency deviation and the frequency of the modulating signal are crucial parameters that determine the character of the FM sound. In summary, the main difference between AM and FM lies in which aspect of the carrier signal is being modulated: AM modulates the amplitude, while FM modulates the frequency. Each technique produces distinct sonic characteristics and is used for different purposes in sound design. #sounddesign #sounddesigner #sounddesigning #sounddesigners #sounddesignerlife #sounddesigntips #abletonpush2 #ableton #abletonlive #abletontips #MusicProductionCourse #musicproductiontutorials #musicproductiontips #psytranceproducers #musicproductionlife #musicproduction
