If you’re trying to build strength in the full push up position or working towards your first bodyweight, I personally prefer keeping the actual push up shape and adjusting the load instead of switching to knees. Kneeling push ups aren’t wrong at all - but I do find that sometimes they turn into more of a “nose dive” to the floor rather than controlled upper body pushing strength. The movement pattern can change a bit. & that’s why I love these🙌🏻 You stay in the proper position, build strength where you actually need it and you can increase or decrease resistance just by switching bands. Over time, reduce the support until you’re pressing full bodyweight🤪 Give this a save this for the next time you’re working on your push ups💪🏻 #strengthtraining #strengthcoach #bodyweightpushups

🥵Upper body strength does not come easy to me. That’s why, being able to vary workouts while working toward a specific goal has been so valuable. 🤪 Who wants to torture themselves with the same exercise over and over that they can’t completely do? 🙃 And even though I can do push-ups now… I still don’t always “enjoy” them. That’s when having the knowledge to train the same muscles, differently comes in handy. 😊 So if push ups are too hard, or when you want something different, or when your wrists can’t take the pressure, or when… you just don’t want to. Try these exercises out instead. 💪 #pushups #motivation #fitmom

💥 progress a push up! 💥 . . A push-up is one of those exercises that can take a long time to really master and work your way up to performing a push-up from the floor. Here is what I’ve been doing with a couple of my clients to work on that pattern as we get stronger, working our way up to doing floor push-ups. . . ✅ Negative box push up - really work on the elbow angle (45° ) and the tempo to start off with making sure you are going all the way down. Find the perfect height. . . ✅ Box push ups- continue that same angle after about a 4 to 5 week routine and now work on the normal tempo: one second down, one second up. . . Next lower the angle 📐 and continue! It’s important to note 📝 things like palm planks, and overall isometric core Stability exercises will help to improve this pattern as well. . Grab the ground! 💪Act like you’re trying to twist the floor apart. Drive your fingertips down. Screw your hands into the ground without actually moving them. Feel your forearms turn on. Here’s what happens when you do that: • Your shoulders pack down and back • Your lats engage • Your core fires harder • Your glutes tighten • Your body moves as one solid piece ❤️Suddenly it’s not just a pushup — it’s a dynamic plank. 🤜🤛 “Grabbing the ground” creates irradiation.
