Start by scanning your artwork and cleaning up the seams between the squares so it becomes one continuous image. Or you can create everything digitally from the beginning if you prefer.
From there, this pattern can become literally anything: a print for clothing, wrapping paper, accessories, bedding, coffee cups — the possibilities are endless.
Of course, working digitally is faster and more efficient. But doing it on paper is more fun and often more interesting, because you get to keep the natural texture of the materials and that adds character you can’t fully replicate digitally.

VEHow to create a ✨seamless pattern✨ by hand?
Here’s a fun and simple way to make your own seamless pattern using just paper and markers. I’m using Kaala B series by @ohuhuart
1. Grab 4 pieces of paper, all the same size.
2. Align them together to form a perfect square.
3. Start drawing your design in the center, think leaves, flowers, doodles, anything you like!
4. Move the two left pieces to the right, keeping the edges aligned, and continue drawing in the new center.
5. Now shift the top two pieces down and add more details to the center once again.
6. Finally, move the two right pieces to the left and complete your central design with final touches.
7. Voila! You’ve just created a seamless pattern, ready to scan, repeat, and turn into wrapping paper, fabric, or prints!

THSeamless repeat pattern tutorial✨ Check the caption for more detail 🌼
Step 1
- On procreate, create a square canvas of size 3000x3000 pixels or 12x12 inch. Make sure to set the DPI to 300.
Step 2
- Click the wrench tool 🔧 and turn on the drawing guide. Click on edit drawing guide and set the grid size to “Max”.
Step 3
- On a new layer, Create a motif of your choice. Duplicate it 4 times.
Step 4
- Make sure to turn on the snapping and magnetics. This step is important. If not, your placement can get messed up.
Step 5
- Now move each duplicated layer to one side of the canvas. Once done, merge them all together as a single layer.
Step 6
- Sketch another motif at the centre to mask any negative space. Sketch it on a new layer.
Step 7
- Now merge the new motif layer with the previously merged single layer. You now have a pattern tile that can be repeated seamlessly!🌼

LII love using the diamond method to create repeat patterns on procreate, I feel like it makes things even more seamless! I do this process differently, most tutorials I’ve seen involve drawing a diamond first, this is just what works for me! Hopefully it wasn’t too complicated to understand.
