Your rowing power might be limited… by your feet. If your foot stretcher isn’t set correctly, you could be losing power every single stroke. Here’s the quick setup check: The strap should sit across the widest part of your foot - right over the ball. Too high? You shorten your leg drive. Too low? You lose connection and control. Use this as a baseline and adjust from there based on your body. If you have tight hips, hamstrings, or lower back or you’re carrying more mass through the center lowering the foot stretcher can help accommodate those restrictions and improve your position at the catch. Fix your feet first - then chase those watts!

INTERVALS intervals and signature are our two metabolic conditioning classes. There are several distinctions in the rowing blocks of work, and clear differences in the floor blocks. Our interval classes are BODYWEIGHT on the floor, and 12 minutes of hard work! I was taking myself through the paces prior to class today and let me tell you 🔥😅 I felt the burn. We have five class types, each with a unique intent and purpose. Interval strikes that balance of teaching you not only to push your thresholds further, but also how to control your heart rate through your recovery. Every time I teach this, I remind my crew, anyone can put in an all out effort, but the question is can you repeat it? How many times can you repeat it? How well can you repeat it? How long can you do that for? The only way you build the ability to answer any of those questions is learning how to control the RECOVERY PHASE of work. A very important and critical skill to build.
