So the biggest mistake you can make is continually stretching the leg, hoping it gets better Because a sensitive nerve does not want to be stretched, and this can prevent you from healing! So how do you fix this without stretching with the pain is? 🔑 The key here is to address sciatica at the root, which is in the low back! Why this works & how to use it! Static stretching alone won’t fix low back pain, sciatic irritation, or SI joint issues. 
What you really need is a combination of active mobility work + targeted strengthening. The science: * The sciatic nerve runs directly under (and sometimes through) the piriformis muscle. * When the piriformis and deep hip rotators get tight or overactive, they can irritate the sciatic nerve → radiating pain down the leg. * Limited hip mobility also forces the lumbar spine and SI joint to move excessively, creating more irritation. -This active release stretch pairs hip external rotation (figure-4 position) with controlled lumbar rotation. The result = less piriformis tension, better hip mobility, and reduced stress on the low back. -Try 1–2 minutes per side, breathing deeply into the stretch. 
🪄Pair this with glute & core strengthening + hip stabiliazation for long-term relief.

The sciatic nerve is a long nerve that originates at the lower back and runs all the way down towards the leg. When this nerve is pressed it can send a sharp shooting pain and this can make daily functioning difficult. ➡️Most common reason for sciatic pain is a herniated disk in the lumbar spine or a bone spur growth. This can irritate the nerve as a result causing the discomfort. ➡️The sciatic pain can show up in different points. It could run the entire length from back to foot. It could also just be some isolated areas such as the lower back or piriformis or back of thigh or the lower leg. ➡️ It is important to first identify what is causing the pain. If the disk herniation is severe then it needs to be addressed accordingly. ➡️ Always remember to get diagnosed by an expert first.
