Two movements that are strikingly similar is a kneeling single arm pulldown and a machine high row... although one is labeled a row and the other a pulldown. Regardless, both are gonna be lat focused exercises that slightly bias more of the upper lats due to being in the saggital plane. If I had to choose between one of them, I’d actually opt more for the high row since it’s easier to stay within the rom where the lats have leverage for shoulder extension and it’s more stable.

Coaching cues 🏋🏻‍♂️ ~ Use a neutral grip to keep elbow close to the side Start square on and reach to the ceiling with the scapula first Initiate movement by dropping shoulder first Then pull with the elbow towards the hip or base of the spine (where lat originated from) Slight lean or lateral flexion to help fully shorted the lat Hold at the bottom Slow release and reach Repeat Give this one a try and let me know how you get on . . . #lattraining #latpulldown #backtraining #singlearmpulldown

I got you ✅ I never know why people do this with just one knee on floor when you can actually make the exercise better by adding more stability Look one knee on ground isn't wrong.. As the weight gets heavier it's going to be hard to stabilise yourself so adding a bench makes it so much better Also think about driving elbow down into the pocket 🦾 Hope this helps ✅❤️

𝑺𝑰𝑵𝑮𝑳𝑬 𝑨𝑹𝑴 𝑳𝑨𝑻 𝑷𝒖𝑳𝑳 𝑫𝑶𝑾𝑵 Ever noticed your client or perhaps yourself doing lat pull down and one side is significantly overtaking the movement? This is why I feel like single arm pull downs are heavily underrated movements that targets our lats. This movement is perfect for those that don’t get a lot of stimulation from traditional compound back movements. Use the one-arm lat pull-down to build your back muscles, especially your lats, and to develop unilateral upper-body strength. The exercise is also great for warming up and finding the mind–lats muscle connection before a back workout. 1. Sit on the lat pull-down machine. 2. Bring the thigh pad down onto your thighs so that you are secured into place. 3. Grasp the handle with one hand. Your arm and shoulder should be fully stretched upward. 4. Exhale as you slowly pull the handle down (by drawing scapula down) until your elbow is by the side of your body. (I like to tell my clients to squeeze the armpit) 5. Hold for a count of two. 6. Inhale as you slowly return the handle to the starting position, with your arm and shoulder fully stretched upward. 7. Repeat for more repetitions. 8. Single Arm Pulldown👇🏼 The most common mistakes when performing single arm pulldown is not depressing and retracting the scapula before pulling, which limits lat activation, pulling too much with the arm instead of engaging the lats and pulling down too fast and letting the weight snap back up. All of the above reduces effectiveness of this exercise. So instead do this: * Initiate the movement by pulling your shoulder blade down and back before bending the elbow * Think about leading with your elbow rather than your hand, and visualize pulling down and in * Control both the concentric (pulling) and eccentric (returning) phase, taking 2-3 seconds each way. Additionally slight lateral leaning can help with better lat contraction during a single-arm pulldown, but it must be done correctly.
