the one cue that will completely change your sled push most people grab high on the sled and wonder why it feels impossible. it’s not your fitness, it’s your positioning. 1. high hands = wrong angle when your hands are too high, you end up pushing down instead of forward. your legs can’t fully drive, so everything feels heavier than it should. 2. lower your hands, load your legs drop your grip slightly and lean forward like a sprint. now your glutes and quads actually do the work, where the power should come from. 3. push the ground away, not the sled stop thinking about moving the sled. think about driving the floor back with every step. the sled will follow. same weight. same body. completely different feeling. save this for your next hyrox session. follow if you’re learning how to train hybrid properly 👀 #hyrox #hyroxtraining #sledpush #hybridtraining #functionalfitness gymtipsforwomen hyroxwomen strengthandconditioning runningandlifting

the one cue that will save your sled push most people grab the top of the pole and wonder why they’re dying. the problem is not your fitness. it’s your physics. 1. high hands tilt your torso forward — when your hands are at the top of the pole, your centre of mass shifts forward and over the sled. you lose the ability to load your legs and end up pushing with your upper body instead. that is an exhausting way to move a heavy sled. 2. lower hands change your body angle — dropping your hands brings your hips back and down. now your body is in a position where your glutes and quads can actually fire. you are driving the sled, not falling into it. 3. think push the ground, not the sled — once your hands are lower and your hips are loaded, the cue is simple. drive the ground away from you with every step. the sled moves as a result of that, not because you are muscling it forward with your arms. same weight. same fitness. completely different experience. . . . . #HYROX #HYROXtraining #sledpush #HYROXcoach #functionalfitness

Don’t let the sled push ruin your race❗️ Here are my 5 HYROX ELITE tips ⬇️ 1️⃣ Go in calmer than you think you should. If your heart rate is already redlining when you grab the sled, you’re in trouble. Use the run before the sled to settle your breathing, not to push. 2️⃣ Break it into small, intentional pushes. Trying to go unbroken won’t go well. Push → short breath → push. This limits lactate and saves your legs for the next run. 3️⃣ Use your legs as well. Low hips, strong drive through the feet, tight core. If you’re gasping for air, you’re pushing too hard. 4️⃣ Don’t race the athlete next to you. Someone going faster doesn’t mean they’re doing it right. Many athletes win the sled… and lose the race two stations later. 5️⃣ Think beyond the sled. The goal isn’t to finish the sled fast, it’s to run well immediately after. 🏃🏽‍♂️💨 If your legs are cooked here, the race is about to get very long. 🥵 Finish strong and see you in the next one. 🏁🔥 #Hyrox #sledpush #tips #training

Same weight.. VERY different experience. Women’s pro race & mixed doubles race. Both pushing 152kg. Yet, in Bologna the sled was barely moving. And 2 weeks before in London it was flyingggggg. Which shows just how much the sled track makes such a difference to how the sled feels. This was luckily only the second time I’ve felt the sled resistance as high as it was. But the extra energy giving to push it fucks your legs big time. And we did 50/50 on this 🫠 thanks Lew 😂 So remember that not every race will feel the same and that’s why times and how you feel in each race can vary a lot! If you want to feel fierce on the sleds, DM me ‘HYROX’ and let’s see how i can help 🤍 #hyrox #sledpush #hybridathlete #workout #raceday

Fighting for my life on Length 2 vs Length 4 on the Sled Push! First one I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t moving, I used so much energy here not giving up! By the 4th length it moved much easier, I was lower down the sled & more controlled🙏 however on the 4th I pushed it for way longer, as I felt I needed to make it up, but this fatigued me too much and struggled from here onwards! Good technique = better movement💥 60kg vs 152kg 💪 #hyroxcardiff #hyroxcardiff2026 #hyrox #sledpush

HYROX changed the sled surface this season. And the data confirms it. We compared Open results across the 24/25 and 25/26 seasons. The average sled push went from 2:39 to 2:55. Even the top 5% got slower (1:20 to 1:25). It’s not you. It’s the turf. The new carpet creates more friction, and it gets worse as it ages through the season. Your next race could feel completely different from your last one. Here’s what needs to change: 1. Get lower. Way lower. Last season, a slightly upright stance around 100-120° generated enough leverage. This season you need your hips at 90° or below. Almost horizontal, driving straight forward. Forearms on the bar, chin over it, shoulders pressing through the frame. This engages your lats and core, not just your legs. The lower you get, the more force transfers through the sled. 2. Push forward, not down. The new turf bunches up in front of the sled and can lift it off the ground. If you’re pushing downward into the frame, you’re fighting the surface instead of moving the sled. Keep your drive direction horizontal. 3. Check your shoes. Full rubber coverage on the sole with textured grooves. The surface is grippier now, and smooth soles will slip. Same for your hands. Try gloves, chalk, bare hands in training. Find what works before race day surprises you. 4. Train heavier than race weight. Push it until you almost can’t move it. The sled at your gym will never feel the same as race day, and the new surface makes that gap even bigger. It’s better to show up overprepared than to get crushed on the course. 5. Two sled sessions per week. One pure heavy session where you just push sleds. One combined with running where you go hard in and out of the push under fatigue. That second session teaches you what race day actually feels like. Keep total push volume under 100m per set. Going longer just makes you slow. The top 10% average 1:30. The overall average is 2:55. Most athletes haven’t adapted to the new surface yet. That’s your window. Send this to someone racing this season. #hyrox #hyroxtraining #sledpush

The sled push is NOT about muscling through every step❌ Keep your back around 45 degrees. Stay smooth. And keep your head in a position where you can actually breathe. Was passiert dann? Beginner push the sled. Advanced athletes Sled Hug. #hyrox #hyroxtips #hybridathlete #sledpush #sledhug Hyroxworkout Hyrox HyroxAthlete Hyroxtipps

🔥 SLED PUSH TECHNIQUE 🔥 With the sled push, you equally want to maximise your force on the movement, while fatiguing yourself with the least amount of energy. Keeping your body compact and using your body weight as much as possible helps. I used to make this mistake of wrapping my arms around the bars for the push, but you end up wider, not as much surface area on the poles, you can’t engage your arms as much and your chest doesn’t come forward. You ideally want to lean into the weight as much as you can so your body weight can push it along, and in this position, you can use your biceps and arms slightly to take a tiny bit of weight off your legs (minor details, but it still helps). With the push off, I prefer slight stagger to use both legs to get the sled moving. You might do this 8 times, and it can make it easier to get the sled up to speed, and it’s a similar foot positioning you’d see in a sprinter or even scrum in rugby as you can generate more power with both legs 🚀 Try these tips out and see how you go! @hyroxanz #hyrox #hyroxtraining #fitreels #gymreels #sledpush sledtechnique
