🌌 OUR SOLAR SYSTEM: A COSMIC NEIGHBORHOOD At the center of it all is the powerful Sun, holding everything together with gravity. Orbiting around it are incredible worlds—from rocky planets like Earth and Mars to massive gas giants like Jupiter. Between planets lies the Asteroid Belt, filled with ancient space rocks, while distant icy giants like Neptune mark the outer edges of our system. This perfectly balanced system has existed for billions of years—guiding planets in stable orbits and making life possible on Earth. It’s not just space… it’s our home in the universe. 🚀 ⭕ #SolarSystem #Space #NASA #Astronomy #planets

The solar system rotates around the center of the Milky Way galaxy. This motion is part of the galaxy's overall rotation and follows a nearly circular orbit within the galactic plane. Here are some key details: 1. Orbital Period: It takes the solar system approximately 225-250 million years to complete one orbit around the Milky Way's center. This period is known as a "cosmic year" or "galactic year." 2. Orbital Speed: The solar system travels at an average speed of about 220 kilometers per second (about 136 miles per second) in its orbit around the galactic center. 3. Distance from Galactic Center: The solar system is located roughly 27,000 light-years away from the center of the Milky Way. 4. Galactic Structure: The Milky Way is a barred spiral galaxy, and the solar system is situated in one of its spiral arms, specifically the Orion Arm (or Orion Spur). This rotation is influenced by the combined gravitational pull of the Milky Way's mass, including stars, gas, dust, and dark matter. 🌌 How Does Our Solar System Move? 🌌 Did you know our entire solar system is on a cosmic journey? 🪐✨ As the Sun orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy, it travels at an astonishing speed of about 230 kilometers per second (140 miles per second)! 🌠 This means it takes our solar system roughly 225 million years to complete one full orbit—this is known as a galactic year! But that's not all; our solar system is also moving through the Local Group of galaxies and is being pulled towards the Andromeda Galaxy! 🚀💫 So, as we enjoy our view of the stars, remember: we're all part of a dynamic, ever-moving universe! Let’s explore space together ❤️! Follow us @astrosphear for more daily astronomy/science/physics content 🌌! Slicing the Solar System: The Anatomy of Nine Worlds We've all seen the planets as orbs, but what's inside? We're taking a conceptual blade to the solar system, from the blazing Sun to the icy Kuiper Belt, to reveal the incredible physics shaping each world. The nine cross-sections tell a story of heat, pressure, and cosmic ingredients. This is the anatomy of our system, defined by unique physics: The Stellar Engine: The Sun isn't a planet; it's a star. Slicing it reveals no solid layers, but pure, dense plasma. The core is a fusion reactor, the source of all energy. The Radiative Zone transports this energy as light, while the Convection Zone moves it like a boiling pot, creating the "surface" we see. The Terrestrial Worlds (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars): These are worlds of differentiation. Gravity pulled the heaviest elements (iron, nickel) to the center, forming dense metallic cores, leaving a lighter silicate mantle and a thin, rocky crust. Earth is unique with its liquid water and dynamic tectonic crust. Mars has a dead, rust-red crust, and Mercury is a "cannonball" that is mostly core. The Gas Giants (Jupiter, Saturn): These planets have no "ground." A blade sinks through ammonia clouds, into an atmosphere so compressed it becomes a vast ocean of liquid molecular hydrogen. Deeper still, the pressure is so immense it squeezes hydrogen atoms into a flowing liquid metallic state, a bizarre substance that generates their powerful magnetic fields. The Ice Giants (Uranus, Neptune): These are a different class. Beneath their hazy blue atmospheres (rich in methane ice) lies a vast, bizarre "mantle." It's not rock or liquid metal, but a super-pressurized, hot, dense "slush" of water, methane, and ammonia ices, flowing like a fluid around a small, rocky core. The Distant Outcast (Pluto): Slicing this dwarf planet reveals a world of ice. Its crust is a brittle shell of frozen nitrogen and methane. Beneath this lies a vast, surprisingly solid mantle made of water ice—as hard as rock in the extreme cold—surrounding a small, dense, rocky core. #SolarSystem #Geology #PlanetaryScience #Astronomy #Astrobiology #SciComm #Space #amsr #asmrsounds #Physics #Jupiter

Shocking, Phenomenon of our Solar system, how the planets revolving of the sun.😳🤯 Solar system revolution refers to the movement of celestial bodies, such as planets, in an elliptical orbit around the Sun. The time it takes for a planet to complete one orbit is called its period of revolution, and this period varies for each planet based on its distance from the Sun, with closer planets like Mercury having shorter periods and farther planets like Neptune having much longer ones. Earth's revolution takes approximately 365.24 days, resulting in a year and the basis for the Gregorian calendar, which accounts for the extra fraction of a day with leap years. The phenomenon of revolution, along with the Earth's axial tilt, is also the cause of the planet's four seasons. #space #dark #solarsystem #shooting #thecosmos #stars #milkeyway #earth #moonphotography #astronomy #viral #viralreels #nasa
