These exercises, and dozens more, are some of the simple experiential practices that we do every week in the body first healing program’s somatic resource and reset call, a.k.a. the nervous system gym. Your body was innately built and hardwired for healing, wholeness, and regulation. Rediscover the incredible tools and capacity that lie within. Join me in the body-first healing program 🤎 Give these a try and let me know how they land! **Note: somatic practices should not be used as a way to BYPASS the very natural and often necessary somatic experiences of the body. Rather, we should use them in moments when our experiences feel intolerable, as a way to bring down high activation. We bring in these practices or resources to regulate our experience, keep it manageable, then process through the body. Every somatic practice will land differently with each unique body and nervous system. Please modify according to your personal needs. Ready for a nervous system deep dive? Drop me the word UNSTUCK and I’ll send over my free 2-day nervous system mini-course! #nervoussystem #somaticexperiencing #vagusnerve #bodyawareness #mindbodyconnection #somatictherapy #somaticexercises #nervoussystemhealing #anxiety #flightresposne

“Honestly I don’t remember much of my childhood…” “I feel like my memory is just bad?” “There are whole years I can’t recall anything…” I hear this all the time — especially from high-functioning, over-responsible women who don’t have one big, obvious trauma. Because it’s not always about what happened. It’s often about what didn’t happen. The attunement that wasn’t there. The safety that wasn’t consistent. The emotional needs that had no place to land. Your brain adapted by staying in survival… not in storage. So no — your memory isn’t “bad.” Your nervous system just prioritized getting you through. And here’s the most important part: You do not need the memories to heal. With Brainspotting, we don’t rely on story or recall (unlike EMDR). We work with the body — because the body holds what the mind couldn’t organize at the time. You don’t have to remember it to process it to release it to finally feel like you’re here in your life. #brainspotting #cptsdhealing #nervoussystemregulation #somatictherapy #millennialmom

“Be strong.” We heard it our whole lives. When things got hard, when emotions got big, when the truth got too loud … Just Be Strong. Smile. Suck it up. Don’t make it uncomfortable. Don’t fall apart. Keep it together. Keep it moving. But what if the strength we were praised for was actually a trauma response? In this deeply honest episode of Rawish, I sit down with the incredible @healwithbritt, author of Body-First Healing, to unpack what really happens when we grow up in families that sweep things under the rug and silence emotional truth. We also talk about Britt’s lowest moments, including a pivotal three-day stay in a jail cell that became her “concrete bottom” and the turning point that awakened her curiosity and her calling. Through somatic work, Britt found not only her own healing, but a revolutionary path to guide others home to themselves. You were never meant to carry it all alone, and this conversation will feel like a big hug! Also, I cannot believe what this woman has overcome, and in the public, no less! Watch this full episode on YouTube or listen on Apple, Spotify, and everywhere you get your podcasts. Thank you for supporting our mission, it means a lot! 🧡 #somatichealing #somatictherapy #bodyfirst #bodyfirsthealing #brittpiper #saawareness #healingjourney #rawreflections #emotionalwellbeing #rawishpodcast #traumahealingjourney #traumaresponse

Why Being ‘Too Nice’ Could Be Hurting You Being “nice” isn’t always as harmless as it seems. People pleasers often give up their authenticity, not consciously, but as a survival mechanism, to be liked, accepted, or loved. Over time, this habit can carry on in every part of life. Gabor Maté says in the video: “There are two ways to be nice:” 1️⃣ From genuine compassion and care for others – you’re kind, empathetic, and still grow in yourself. This is healthy. 2️⃣ From fear and self-repression – you’re nice because you weren’t loved for who you were, or you fear rejection. This kind of niceness comes at a cost. I worry about “very nice” people: when niceness comes from self-repression, this can put your mental, emotional, and even physical health at risk. You may ignore your own needs, avoid boundaries, or suppress anger, your energy pays the price. The key: ✅ Care for yourself while caring for others ✅ Learn to say no without guilt ✅ Set boundaries and honor your feelings When your niceness comes from a place of alignment and self-respect, it becomes powerful, an authentic form of self expression.. 💛 Video: @the.f.era . . . #nervoussystem #somaticwork #somaticcoaching #somaticexperiencing #somatichealing #somatictherapy #nervoussystemregulation #nervoussystemhealth #nervoussystemhealing #copingmechanism #perfectionism #traumainformed #gaborMaté #somatichealing #LiberationThroughYoga #mindbodyhealing #SelfAwareness #YogaJourney #EmbodyYourTruth

…because I know you can’t get enough of nervous system support practices! 🧠💫 Here is one of my favorites to support moving into the ventral vagal state of calm and connected. This reset helps tone your vagus nerve and also helps to re-balance your mind and body. It does this via the movement in your upper spine (cervical + thoracic) and via the lateral eye movements. It also functionally stimulates the vagus nerve via (adapted) lion’s 🦁 breath which is a beautiful yogic pranayama (breathwork) practice to help calm and tone the autonomic nervous system. Notice how this feels for you and if it resonates repeat 2-3X daily! ✨ Let me know 👇

This is the work most people skip. Not because they don’t want to heal. Because they’ve been trying to heal alone. Reading the books, watching the videos, understanding their patterns perfectly… and still stuck in the same loops. Understanding isn’t the problem. You can’t think your way out of a nervous system response. Your body doesn’t care what you know. It cares what you experience. The S.A.F.E. Method Live is 12 weeks of doing the work with support. Four weeks of foundation. Eight weeks of live coaching with me and a small cohort of 20 people who are done trying to fix themselves and ready to work with their nervous system instead. This is hot seat coaching with real situations from your actual life. This is co-regulation with people who get it. This is practicing the method in real time so it’s available when you’re actually triggered, not just when you’re scrolling. You’re not broken. You’re protecting. And your nervous system is ready to learn something new when you give it the right environment to do that. 20 spots. Starts April 13. L!nk in b!o or comment JOIN for S.A.F.E. Feelings are meant to be felt, not fixed. I wish more people understood that uncomfortable feelings are not an experience to be fixed or corrected. The entire purpose of an unpleasant feeling is simply to feel it - it’s how we process life, which includes a full spectrum of experiences from wonderful to awful. But we’ve got it all mixed up and believe that we need to cling to good feelings and run from the bad ones. Guess what happens when we do that? We exacerbate and elongate the bad feelings, and feel anxious about the good ones. Living a human life means we will experience the full range of emotions here. Where on earth did anyone get the impression that a successful or correct life is one with accentuated good feelings and minimized bad ones? Does the earth cling to one season longer than another? Is the sky attached to sunny days more than cloudy ones? Have you ever seen how long a rainbow lasts? Or a storm for that matter? It’s all passing weather. ⛈️🌥️🌤️🌈🌊🌪️🔥🌞☔️ 🪞TRANSFORMATIVE COUNSELING W/ KADHI • somatic psychotherapy | spiritual mentorship | coaching I specialize in relationship issues, outgrowing victim mindset, trauma healing, grief processing, getting unstuck, healing from codependency, people pleasing recovery, breakup and divorce recovery... the list goes on 😇 Read my pinned posts and ABOUT section on my website to get a feel for what I offer. 🌞 Ready to finally get some traction on your growth? Even if your mind tries to ignore what your body is telling you, your body will always remember. 😮‍💨 It’s hard to slow down, especially when the stillness cultivates awareness. It may feel overwhelming to listen at first, but the mental fortitude you gain in the listening can be life changing. The softness that you offer yourself is truly the key to longevity and nothing about THAT is weak. #longevity #mentalwellbeing #injury #hss #rehab #physicaltherapy #somatictherapy

The body holds so much tension and more often than not, that tension is suppressed emotion. When we drop out of the mind that constantly tries to control, and into the body’s deeper remembering, something remarkable happens. The body knows how to move, release, and regulate itself. There is no control here - only the body’s wisdom. Whilst it may look unusual to the mind (which always wants to work things out), what you’re actually witnessing is the natural intelligence of the nervous system finding coherence. We all hold this innate capacity to heal, to move through and to move forwards. Yet for so many, suffering has become the norm simply because we’ve become disconnected from this inner truth. This is the deeper remembering. This is the body showing us the way. 🙏🏽🌀✨🤍🫂. #spinalenergetics #somatichealing #nervoussystemregulation #breathworkhealing #traumarelease #embodiedhealing #somatictherapy #breathworkpractice #healingjourney #mindbodyconnection #nervoussystemhealing #emotionalrelease #somaticexperience #bodywisdom #traumahealing
