Update on this Mr Cool 18K ductless split system….it works great. Sorry to disappoint the comments section on the first video. I think it had almost 4M views, and hundreds of comments- many of which said this unit is junk. 🤷‍♂️ It cooled the space flawlessly through the end of the summer. It’s been heating the space great all winter. I protected it during drywall and paint and it survived unscathed exactly like I said it would. It’s quiet. No issues at all in the last 5 months. My installation definitely deviated from the instructions. Specifically with how I ran the linesets and drain. Manufacturer recommends they go straight through the wall and down the exterior to the outdoor unit. I treated it more as a new installation so nothing is visible outside. The drywall didn’t crack where everyone said it would. The mechanical connections in the wall haven’t been a problem. The drain in the wall hasn’t been a problem. Nothing has frozen. How to clean the filters of your split system unit. This is a really quick and easy job that will improve the efficiency of your unit by just getting rid of the built-up dust and dirt and grime. This is a general guide for most split systems. For your specific split system, you might look in (or for!!) your instruction manual, or online for those details. System Turn your split system off then open up the front flap of your inside unit and you’ll see the filters - fine mesh panels curved up inside the unit. Gently remove these and give them a dust with a soft brush, gentle vacuum and maybe even a warm bath before drying them off and putting them back in the unit. You can also very gently vacuum the heat exchange fins being careful not to damage them and give the fans etc a wipe out with a soft cloth. Do this at least once a year and your system will run that little bit more efficiently. #energyefficiency #allergyfriendly #allergylife #splitsystem #cleaning
