Are you using step ups to grow your 🍑, but struggling to feel it in the right spots? Here are some common mistakes and how to fix them for maximum glute emphasis and control.✨ ⭐️ Hold the dumbbell in the same hand as the working leg. Use your opposite hand to hold onto a support if needed. ⭐️ Instead of keeping your posture upright and stepping vertically as you might the stairs, think of stepping up diagonally with your chest down in about a 45° angle. ⭐️ Manyyy people want to cheat themselves by kicking up off of the back leg or plopping back down. However, we want to work through that sticky point and strengthen the entire range of motion. Roll off of that back leg and return with control. You may want to lower the weight if you’re struggling to do this. CHECK YOUR FORM - STEP UPS . Step ups (especially using a high box/step) are an underrated exercise for building and strengthening glutes. I know they sound like a simple movement but they require a lot more thought and control than you think, especially if you want to target the glutes! 🍑 . The mistake that most people make with step ups is thinking that the leg on the floor is the working leg. But it's the leg on the box that should be doing all the work, both with raising the other leg from the floor (concentric) and lowering it again (eccentric). . Another big mistake with this exercise is rushing it! Slow it down and really focus on your muscles engaging! ✅ . Here's how to do them correctly: 1️⃣Place your working leg firmly on the box. Tip: I like to perform these laterally (from the side of a box) instead of standing in front of a box as it allows for better balance! 2️⃣Push down through the heel that is on the box. Focus on "feeling" the glute engage. 3️⃣Lean your torso forward slightly while keeping your back flat and "lift" your other leg from the floor. Keep the leg straight and don't bend the knee. This will avoid the temptation to push off from the floor! 4️⃣Extend your hips and allow your leg to come up to the box briefly and then lower it back down to the floor under control. Tip: You should be able to control the descent throughout the entire range of motion. If you can't, your box height is too high! 5️⃣Repeat until you have completed all of your reps for that leg and then switch your working leg. . When you have perfected your form using your body weight you can add dumbbells to increase the difficulty of the movement! . Salva esse post e aprende o passo a passo pra dominar de uma vez por todas 👇🏼 1️⃣ APOIO DOS PÉS: Escolha um banco mais ou menos na altura do seu joelho (se não tiver banco, pode usar um caixote ou dois steps empilhados) ⚠️ Altura importa:
• Muito baixo → você perde amplitude (e esse exercício permite MUITA amplitude).
• Muito alto → aumenta o risco de compensar com a lombar.
O ideal é um meio termo que permita controle, conforto e amplitude completa. 2️⃣ POSIÇÃO DA POLIA: A polia deve ficar lá embaixo, no chão mesmo.
 3️⃣ ⭐ DICA DE OURO Ao invés de segurar o suporte da polia só com a mão, use a tornozeleira no punho (a mesma que você usa pra glúteo). ✔️ Mais conforto, estabilidade, uso de cargas maiores e evitar machucar a mão na pegada. 
 4️⃣ APOIO DAS MÃOS, BRACING E POSTURA • Apoie-se firmemente na polia para ter controle do início ao fim
• Ative o bracing abdominal.
• Abra o peito — nada de ficar curvada 5️⃣ FOCO TOTAL NA PERNA DA FRENTE Toda a força vem da perna que está em cima do step. • Subida: empurre o chão com o calcanhar da frente
• Descida: encoste levemente o calcanhar da perna de trás no chão (não a ponta) 🎯 Dica: faça uma pausa embaixo, respire 1 segundo, se concentre e suba com a força da perna da frente. 6️⃣ TRONCO LEVEMENTE INCLINADO • Na descida: pense em descer em uma diagonal para trás, não reto para baixo
• Na subida: mantenha o tronco e suba em uma diagonal para frente, não para cima Esse ajuste aumenta o alongamento do glúteo! 7️⃣ CONTROLE TOTAL DO MOVIMENTO Nada de despencar na descida. • Suba e desça devagar
• Use o apoio da mão para controlar ainda mais a fase excêntrica ⚠️ O controle na descida é MUITO importante. 8️⃣ JOELHO ALINHADO E MOVIMENTO PELO QUADRIL • O joelho deve acompanhar a ponta do pé
• Não avance o joelho para frente
• Comece o movimento levando o quadril para trás, não dobrando o joelho primeiro. ✨ Agora sim, você tem um step up no cross que constrói glúteo de verdade.

Subes y bajas más recto. 🔸Glúteos: Torso ligeramente inclinado hacia adelante, la rodilla queda paralela con tú tobillo, el paso hacia atrás es más largo.
