I learned this lesson the hard way. A few years ago I used to play sports regularly But I was making a huge mistake. I was playing sports without doing any strength training. No knee stability training. No hamstring strengthening. No glute activation. And one day during sports… my left ACL ligament tore. The injury was so severe that I had to undergo ACL reconstruction surgery. Later when I started reading sports medicine research, I realized this wasn’t just bad luck. A large meta-analysis published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine analyzing 26,000+ athletes found: Strength training can reduce sports injuries by up to 66%. Overuse injuries were reduced by almost 50%. But you skip strength training, you are increasing your risk of ligament and joint injuries. Sports don’t make your body strong.
