It’s ok if you’re at a season in your life where you feel you’ve done all the work you could have, and it’s ok if you return!! Don’t get me wrong, I know therapy isn’t for everyone. There are seasons where books help. Podcasts help too. Even AI can help you organize your thoughts. But there’s a difference between insight and healing. A lot of “DIY therapy” keeps you in your head. It gives language and sometimes even some clarity. BUT it can also prolong the moment you let someone actually sit with you in it. Healing relational wounds often requires a new relationship. A regulated nervous system across from yours. Someone helping you hold what you’ve been holding alone. Because when you do it all yourself, it can strengthen the story that you’re meant to carry it alone. Therapy changes that story. #therapytips #traumatherapy #therapist t

Is my therapist helping me? When you’re in a vulnerable place, it can be really hard to tell if the support you’re getting is actually helping or if it’s subtly harming. Here are my 5 signs your therapist is doing a good job: 1. They don’t just validate you, they challenge you, too. 2. They repair quickly if there’s a rupture. 3. They’re not defensive if you bring up feedback. 4. They help you connect patterns, not just vent. 5. You leave sessions with insight, not confusion. Therapy should feel safe, but also gently uncomfortable. If it’s just a weekly chat or you leave feeling worse without clarity, it’s worth re-evaluating if you’ve got the right fit.
