We have to eat 😂 However I do care about what I put in my body and I do notice a huge difference when I eat balanced and whole foods vs. when I don’t! I had to teach myself how to cook. It wasn’t easy but it soon became a passion. Growing up on fast food and casseroles made me think all meat was dry, all vegetables were soggy, and everything had to be slopped together. Fast forward to college when my best friend and I started cooking extravagant meals just because. I learned that meat could be juicy and flavorful. Vegetables could be crisp. And everything didn’t have to be a one dish meal. It was fun spending time in the kitchen and learning new things. It was fun to experiment and succeed but also sometimes fail. But as the years went on and free time dwindled, I needed a way to make those fancy meals I enjoyed faster so every night in the kitchen wasn’t a four to six hour affair. So I kept experimenting. I started recording my own recipes. I figured out what I liked to make most and I kept perfecting it. I found ways to meal prep and bulk cook that didn’t leave for mushy flavorless leftovers. It left more time for other hobbies, or simply a relaxing night with my family. Find healthy foods that taste good that you actually enjoy eating. Then you are way more likely to reach for them. Plan ahead. Do a little bit of prep work on the weekends to make it easier to follow through with cooking dinner at home. My veggie chopper helps me so much with this, but also, buy pre-chopped vegetables if that makes it easier on you! Lean on leftovers for weekday lunches. It doesn’t have to be fancy or complicated and it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
