Here’s the comparison between pre-surgery with grade 4 tonsils and post-surgery after having her tonsils and adenoids removed. The difference is incredible. Snoring is now almost non-existent even while she’s still in the healing phase. It’s been instant relief. She’s slept through every night since we got home (with help from pain relief during the night) and is so much less restless in her sleep. Kids shouldn’t snore. It’s often a sign of obstructed breathing, which can affect their sleep quality, behaviour, growth, facial structure, heart health & more. If your child snores loudly, struggles to breathe at night, or wakes frequently, it’s worth investigating. It's something I've now been through this twice & although I dread the procedure and the lead up it's well worth it. #Tonsillectomy #Adenoidectomy #TonsilSurgery #SnoringInKids #ChildrensHealth #SleepApneaKids #BetterSleep #ENTsurgery #MumLife #HealthJourney #KidsWellbeing #TonsilsAndAdenoids #SleepMatters

✅Tonsils are 2 meat-ball liked structures at the back of your child's throat. ✅ Sore throat is a common symptom for upper respiratory infections (URI) in children. ✅ Remember parents , URI is common in children and that's why URI is also called the Common Cold. Children can experience between 3-10 episodes in a year ( that's rougly around 3-10 sore throats in a year !). ✅ Tonsils can swell up when your child is sick because they are part of the immune system to help fight off the virus or germs and can shrink back to their normal size after the infection. ✅ Large to tonsils are not necessarily a problem if they aren't causing any problems like difficulty breathing, swallowing or sleep disturbances. ✅ Your child can get recurrent sore throats whether their tonsils are large or not. Size doesn't matter. ✅ Tonsillectomy is indicated in children who have very frequent SEVERE sore throats or have difficulty in breathing, swallowing or sleeping. ✅ Doctors may recommend tonsillectomy if your child has 7 or more episodes in a year , 5 or more episodes in each of 2 years or 3 or more episodes in each 3 years. ✅ Clinical trials and observational studies have shown that tonsillectomy may be no better than taking a wait-and-see approach for children who have few throat infections in a year or children who just have mild to moderate throat infections. ✅ For some children, tonsillectomy can greatly improve their quality of life. ✅ Taking out the tonsils can mean less severe sore throats and less frequent sore throat in these children but they can still have sore throats. Any decision for surgery is best to discuss with your ENT doctor. Hope this post helps ! ☺️

Tonsil stones form when debris becomes trapped in the crevices of the tonsils. Food particles, bacteria, and dead cells can harden over time, leading to small stones that may cause bad breath or throat discomfort. Good oral hygiene and staying hydrated can help reduce buildup. I’ve been there. You bring your child to their doctor, who tells you they will “grow into their tonsils.” Or, “they must be fighting something off.” Rather than getting down to the root cause of the enlarged tonsils. You take them to the ENT and they recommened Flonase for 8 weeks and seeing an allergist. And while, yes, those next steps are important. What can you do in the meantime? You can start supporting nasal breathing. Because with nasal breathing, inflammmation can go down, reducing the size of tonsils and adenoids. Now you don’t have to “just wait.” Comment “Guide me” and I’ll send you a simple, parent friendly plan to get started at home. OR sign up for 1:1 therapy with me! For more information please contact us +919452217325 #tonsils #throatinfection #bacterial #virus #lymphnodes #swelling #pain #uncomfortable #drshivamgupta #balajihospital #guptanursinghome #hospital #medicine

Had a tonsil surgery and suddenly noticed bleeding after a few days? ⚠️ This is called secondary hemorrhage and it usually happens around day 5–10, when the healing scab falls off. ❗ Even a small amount of fresh bleeding is NOT normal ❗ It can quickly turn serious if ignored 👉 What should you do? • Stay calm • Rush to the nearest ER immediately Don’t wait for it to stop on its own. Tonsils are NOT lymph nodes, although they are very similar in function. It’s a common misconception. They are mucosal associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) and are covered by the pharyngeal mucosa and are right underneath it. They don’t have a capsule or subcapsular sinus. #tonsils #misconceptions #tonsil #drbusy #medicine #medicin #medstudent #medstudy #medicalfacts #studyinghard #interestingfact #interestingfacts
