Without changing your training, these are some things I think about to help race @ my fastest ( also creds to coaches and friends along the way) 1. Shorten your stride when fatigue hits Increase your cadence and keep each step quick and snappy 2. Use your arms Whether you’re picking it up or just trying to hold on, your arms control your pace. DRIVE 3. Lean slightly forward & engage your core Keep your centre of gravity in front of you, not sitting back and slowing you down. 4. Stay engaged Lock in and race with intention, it’s not meant to feel comfortable ( try to not tense up though) 5. Mind gives up before your body Think about the work you’ve put in in the training but also the race so far, so go make yourself proud & don’t throw that away! 6. Smile & use the support to motivate you (Even if they’re not shouting your name!) Save this for race day & you’ll thank me later!! **chip time 33.40! **

Instantly fix your backside mechanics👇🏼 Poor recovery of backside mechanics is the limiting factor for most athletes’ speed potential - and yet most still prioritise force over flow. No matter how powerful you are, You can’t take your next step until the trail leg has recovered to the frontside. Rather of rushing to put your foot down, lift the thigh & extend your airtime by a fraction whilst shifting focus to whipping the trail leg through faster. By focusing on whipping the back leg through quicker - you’ll have more time to position for the next step to maximise accuracy & efficiency. If you don’t leave yourself enough time to recover for the next step - you may temporarily increase frequency, but you’ll have to sacrifice all your rhythm and stride length in exchange. TODAY IS GOING TO COME AND GO REGARDLESS 👏 . 👟LONG JUMP TIP: Something important that I think this video helps illustrate is the importance of landing on your backside instead of your feet 👏. Had I landed straight up and down, I would have lost a considerable amount of distance, because gravity would have forced me to put down my feet a lot sooner so I could actually land 😬 (I also think it’s important to remember that we are supposed to run as fast as we can and then jump into sand, and landing on our feet over and over is probably not the best for our bodies)🤕. Notice that when my feet DO hit the ground, my hip collapse in the same place as my feet, allowing me to not loose distance 👍... I think a big reason people don’t like landing on the glutes is because the think that they land flat... but the collapse is important! 👏👏 I hope this helps!
