ENAilerons
Ailerons are located on the outer part of the wings. They control roll, meaning they tilt the aircraft left or right. When the pilot turns the yoke, one aileron goes up while the other goes down. This creates a difference in lift between the wings, causing the airplane to bank.
Rudder
The rudder is found on the vertical stabilizer. It controls yaw, which is the left-and-right movement of the aircraft’s nose. The pilot controls it using the rudder pedals. The rudder helps keep the aircraft coordinated in turns and counters unwanted yaw, especially during takeoff, landing, and engine asymmetry.
Horizontal Stabilizer (and Elevator)
The horizontal stabilizer provides longitudinal stability and works with the elevator to control pitch—the nose-up and nose-down movement. When the pilot pulls back or pushes forward on the yoke, the elevator moves, changing the aircraft’s angle of attack and controlling climbs or descents.
