🥬 A health journey is such an individual process. It’s so important to stay focused on yourself. Of course you can get inspiration and advice from others and test different diets with an open mind, but in the end it’s YOU who has to eat that diet for the rest of your life. So you need to be careful. You need to always be present, grounded, well informed, and present with your own body. You will need to learn many things about yourself, and how your brain works. Some people are more easily influenced by others. And you can see the trend in the last months of so many people changing diets, starting eating animal products again. AND I UNDERSTAND! It’s a wild time that we’re living. We’re all looking for solutions to feel better, be better, more productive, peaceful, prosperous, to find relief from pain. And people find that in many different things. I often hesitate to post because I know my posts can be triggering, and unhelpful to some. The short form content that is primed on social media ATM is lacking a lot of context to truly INNERSTAND complex matters. But I personally, in the midst of this social media, influencer chaos, am finding more inner peace with food myself. And I try my best to communicate this and be of service. But the internet is limiting in many ways. That’s why I’m longing for more in person connections. Luckily I am able to host my retreats, and attend other events, where I can connect, teach and guide people in a much more satisfactory way. I am so grateful to God for always guiding me in the right direction. Don’t ever underestimate people who make food videos, this shit is hard! Anyway, as promised here’s another food video. Kind of bummed on myself because this one didn’t include potatoes, which have been the pillar of my weight loss. I’ll make another one soon. I don’t really use recipes, but I do kind of use formulas. If you want to know the scatterbrained formula I used to come up with anything in this video, just ask. Also, my daily eating formula is kind of this: in the mornings, it’s coffee and Steel cut oats. Once a week, I eat a prepared granola on the morning that I work really early and don’t have time for my oats. Sometimes I have pancakes as a treat. For lunch, it’s always these same noodles (yes, all those vegetables are for one serving just for me! )or some variation of potatoes, vegetables, and tofu. In this video I used tempeh because that was what I had. Breakfast and lunch are always really simple and the same. If you want to stick to a program, don’t add too much variety. It took me a long time to realize the answer isn’t tons of new recipes. For dinner as I get a little fancier, but still try to stick to half non-starchy vegetables, no cooking with oil, half a plate of starch and a little protein. I still find this whole food video business very uncomfortable! I still hate my voice 🫣 #whatieatinaday #wfpb #starchsolution

Calorie density: The most IMPORTANT and magical fundamental I have learned about weight loss AND satiation Calorie density just means the calories in a food relative to its weight 🌱oil has 4,000 calorie per pound 🌱broccoli has 150 calories per pound When I look at these 2 videos my initial thought is "wow I can eat so much more food for the same amount of calories when I swap out the high calorie element aka oil. This is 2 tbsp of oil (1/8 cup)=240 calories This isn't about good vs bad foods. It's about how can I get more food for less calories. When I physically fill up my stomach, my stretch receptors are hit, signally to my brain I am full and can stop eating. But When I eat higher calorie foods for way less volume my stomach stretch receptors aren't hit, so I can easily keep eating bc I'm not physically full- in turn taking in way more calories. Making it hard to be in a calorie deficit when I'm not physically satisfied and still hungry! Eat foods high in water and fiber content for low calories but high volume!
