Because the gap in understanding is the problem. ❌ “It’s just a trim.” A proper haircut includes sectioning, cross-checking, balance, texturizing, and styling. Even a dusting requires intention. ❗️I’m not mowing a lawn. I’m sculpting a shape that grows out for 8-10 weeks. ❌ “I want it exactly like this pic.” That Pinterest girl has different texture. Her colorist spent 6 hours on dimensional color. A pro styled it for 45 minutes, lit it, edited it, and posted one shot out of 47. ❗️The inspo pic didn’t wake up like that and neither will you. ❌ “Can you squeeze me in?” That 30-minute gap…that’s when Client A’s color is processing while I’m cutting Client B. That’s formula timing, processing overlaps, double bookings. That’s the only window I have to pee, eat, or breathe. ❗️That gap is the difference between me being present or dissociating behind a smile. ❌ “It shouldn’t cost that much.” Compared to what? Box dye? Great Clips? Your cousin’s kitchen? You’re paying for 1,500+ hours of school, continuing ed, rent, insurance, high-end color, late-night admin work, and the emotional labor of managing humans all day. ❗️You’re paying for a decade of expertise. Not 45 minutes and some foils. ❌ “If I don’t love it, you did something wrong.” Sometimes it’s not wrong. Sometimes it’s different, healthier (which feels lighter), more blended, or a tonal shift your brain hasn’t adjusted to. ❗️Humans need time to recalibrate. Not every discomfort equals a mistake.
