Struggling with hamstring flexibility? 😭 It’s one of the worlds biggest misconceptions that flexibility is all about muscle tightness 🤨 Sure, muscle tightness is absolutely a factor that needs addressing but your nervous system is SO influential for the range you have and if you’re looking for flexibility gains, learning more about the nervous system is KEY 🔑 So before you go bending over those hamstrings time after time, be sure to give your sciatic nerve a little love first with some nerve glides. This is just one example of how you can do so. Give it a test right now and see what instant gains you can make and let me know below! 💭 ❗️(I would argue my gains in this video aren’t as significant as you might find because I didn’t fake it and I frequently practice nerve glides! Tightness usually comes from a mix of:⁣ ⁣ • 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦: Weak glutes or quads make hamstrings overwork.⁣ • 𝘕𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯: The sciatic nerve can restrict mobility.⁣ • 𝘑𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴: Limited hip or ankle mobility can make hamstrings feel “short.”⁣ • 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘺𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴: Sitting keeps hamstrings in a shortened position.⁣ ⁣ Stretching alone isn’t enough.
