But that doesn't tell you if the program is worth continuing. Here's what Mason Cosby recommends - measure across three points: - Benchmark metrics - Compare against industry standards. Your 3% conversion sits slightly above the 2.9% median. - Business metrics - Set minimum viability thresholds. If your program costs $50K and needs 200 leads to break even, 3% might still fail business requirements. - Baseline metrics - Track your own historical performance. If your last three campaigns converted at 5%, this one underperforms your proven capability. Track these three at each buyer journey stage. You'll spot what over-delivers and what underperforms in context - not in isolation. Most teams kill programs that beat benchmarks because they miss business thresholds. Or they scale programs that hit business goals but tank against their own baselines. Both decisions waste budget. Context-driven measurement stops that. Last week, a business owner told me something that made my heart sink. "Our Facebook ads aren't working. I think we should just increase the budget." They were spending $1,000/day at 1.5 ROAS.
