DOThe physics behind this endlessly looping paper figure is a masterclass in aerodynamics and geometry working in perfect harmony.
The figure-eight design creates two interconnected wing surfaces that generate lift and drag in precisely calibrated directions. As the paper moves through air, these forces don’t fight each other but instead create a self-stabilizing rotation that keeps the motion smooth and continuous rather than chaotic.
Those small folds you see aren’t just for show. They act exactly like control surfaces on an aircraft, subtly dampening any instability and maintaining steady flight. It’s the same principle engineers use in real aerospace design, just applied to a simple piece of paper.
The magic happens in the balance between gravity and aerodynamic lift. BIBehind the scenes of my snail mail club Tiny Stamp Post from start to finish! These are a labor of love and I enjoy every process from start to finish💌
I start out by drawing my design, I carve out my design, and then I hand tear all my paper. Each print is a hand stamped original, signed and dated and then they dry for 3-5ish days before I package them in along with a surprise waterproof sticker. Most months will be a mystery mini sticker, but stay tuned for Januarys surprise!! New members get a welcome card with their first order. Finally, everything is carefully wrapped in a typed letter and put in an envelope.
All Decembers Tiny Stamp Post have officially been dropped off and are on their way!! I can’t wait for everyone to get their mail!
This project has been so fun and exciting for me. January’s Tiny Stamp Post ‘Lucky Horse’ is officially live and available to sign up through 1/20. I’m already brainstorming for the rest 2026💌🌟🍓✨ Thanks for being here💛
