10The family of 7-month-old Kaori Patterson-Moore is reeling after the infant was shot and killed while sitting in a double stroller in South Williamsburg on Wednesday. Her grandparents, who lived with the child, shared the shock and agony they felt the moment they learned of the shooting.
"I was at work I got the call," Linda Oyinkoinyen said as she struggled to hold back her tears. "Your granddaughter got shot in the head. Seven months."
The infant's grandfather, Godsking, spoke of the deep bond he shared with the baby girl. "She just barely started saying her first words, taking her first steps," he said.
Kaori's brother, who was sitting in the same stroller, was also grazed by a bullet during the incident, officials said.
Amuri Greene, 21, has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder in the shooting, which law enforcement said they believe to be gang-related. A manhunt continues for the second suspect.
