Realising he will only inherit the fortune after the cats pass away, he drugs them with "Crème de la Crème à la Edgar" and abandons them in the French countryside Stranded, the family meets Thomas O’Malley, a streetwise tomcat who offers to guide them back to Paris. Along the way, they encounter a colourful cast of characters, including two English geese (Abigail and Amelia Gabble) and O’Malley’s band of jazz-playing alley cats
